Santara clinics occupy most of the beds for COVID-19 patients, in hospitals throughout Lithuania, also more than half

According to Santara Clinics, the situation is not really gratifying: every day there are fewer beds for patients with COVID-19.

Doctors from other departments are trained

These beds, which are currently counted as the most intensive, are specially equipped for patients treated with local disease COVID-19, epidemiologically safe, that is, isolated from patients with other diseases. Therefore, these beds / locations are located in separate units and staffed with staff who cannot work with other patients to avoid the risk of cross contamination.

According to the press release, it was agreed with the Vilnius region support hospitals that they would be ready to receive a certain number of patients from the Santara clinics according to their capacities.

The hospital sees to it that there is no shortage of personnel: doctors from other departments, residents of VU are included in reserve lists, they are trained to work in combat units.

The clinics respond on a daily basis to the changing epidemiological situation of the country and will therefore optimize the services provided in the hospital if necessary.

Currently, 36 doctors diagnosed with COVID-19 in the Santara clinics are isolated due to contact with infected people: 51.

There are fewer and fewer places in hospitals

According to BNS, a total of 370 people are being treated for COVID-19 in Lithuanian hospitals, 22 more patients than reported on Wednesday, 34 of them in resuscitation.

According to the Health Ministry, 165 patients are being treated with oxygen masks and another 14 are undergoing artificial lung ventilation.

A total of 13 thousand people in Lithuania were infected with the coronavirus. 088 people, 8301 – still ill, 4582 – recovered.

A total of 150 people died of COVID-19 in Lithuania, and 55 people died of coronavirus from other causes. On Thursday, 950 cases of the disease were reported in the last day.
