COVID-19 saved the life of a doctor: he said he feels bad, has difficulty breathing

On Tuesday afternoon, residents of the Šilutė district municipality were surrounded by painful news: Jevgenija Mickienė, a doctor at the “Sveikatos darna” family doctor center, died, reports “Šilutė News”.

The doctor’s life was ruined by a treacherous coronavirus infection that the woman was diagnosed with on October 15.

“Šilutė News” states that for a time the woman was treated at home and felt well enough. Subsequently, J. Mickienė’s health condition deteriorated and on Sunday she was transferred to Klaipėda University Hospital. J. Mickienė died on Tuesday.

I spoke to her on the phone on Monday, the doctor said she was feeling bad, she had trouble breathing.

“I spoke with her on the phone on Monday, the doctor said that she felt bad, she had difficulty breathing. But no one expected her to leave. This news shocked us all, ”Alvydas Vaičiūnas, one of the leaders of Health Sustainability, told reporters.

The portal recalls that a total of 11 thousand people in Lithuania were infected with the coronavirus. 362 people, 6844 – still ill, 4329 – recovered.
