The challenge is the doctors
Today, half of the beds have already been vacated, but requirements call for all beds to be vacated first, infrastructure reorganized, disinfection carried out, and only then can COVID-19 patients be admitted .

According to N. Markevičius, there were discussions with the municipality, as well as with representatives of the Santara clinics and the Ministry of Health about the medical situation. However, he made sure the hospital also had a plan for B, C, and even D in case of a doctor shortage.

Other patients will travel according to the plan to other hospitals: M. Marcinkevičius, nursing hospitals or other institutions not in Vilnius, but in the Vilnius area.
Eight of the 55 patients who were to be transferred to other institutions were transferred at noon on Wednesday. Povilas Poderskis, director of the Vilnius municipality administration, also says that the transformation of VMKL into a hospital treating COVID-19 is progressing smoothly.
“When the Santara clinics reach a certain capacity limit, they go to another hospital as planned. Perhaps there is a certain misunderstanding: the lack of conversation that the Minister spoke about is that the capacity of the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital could be increased if the purchase of oxygen equipment was financed, as a result clinics were contacted from Santara in July. . So far, the Vilnius city municipality is willing to finance the equipment purchase itself, in the hope of receiving subsequent compensation from the government, perhaps a new one.
P. Poderskis stated that the cooperation with the Santara clinics really continues, their representatives participate in the meetings of the personal health care institutions of the city.
