“Currently, the Lithuanian Armed Forces have a little more than 600 in self-isolation, more than 100 soldiers and employees are sick, but these are not very large chimneys,” Captain Andrius Dilda, public relations officer of the Lithuanian Army, told BNS on Wednesday. Defense Staff.

According to him, there are patients in various units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

“We are seeing a higher number of patients in the units of Klaipėda, Vilnius, Kaunas and Šiauliai counties,” said a representative of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

A. Dilda added that in all military units the movement of soldiers and vehicles between units is restricted, only the necessary communication remains, access to military units is restricted.

Checks are also carried out: the temperature of the participants is measured, declared and declared, and meals and health care services are organized in such a way that there are no queues.

The recruits will remain in the units for two weeks.

Captain A. Dilda, a public relations officer for the Defense General Staff, also said the recruits would not be released home for the next two weeks.

“Soldiers from the initial permanent compulsory military service serving in the Lithuanian Armed Forces will remain in their units for the next 2 weeks,” said the Armed Forces representative.

According to him, two weeks later it is planned to adjust the conditions of release to the home, taking into account the affiliation of the municipality with the contagion area.

Dilda added that despite the coronavirus situation, soldiers would continue to play their role in preparing the country’s defense and helping other authorities to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Currently, soldiers help the National Center for Public Health, work in shifts and are provided with personal protective equipment.
