“A worker diagnosed with COVID-19 is currently being treated at home. During the epidemiological diagnosis, it was found that he may have had close contact with three colleagues who worked in the same Maxima X store. The employees isolated themselves. The COVID-19 infected worker had no close contact with customers. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and, if necessary, we will take the recommended actions, ”says Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Department of Communication and Image of the Maxima retail chain.

The premises of the store where the COVID-19 infected employee worked have been disinfected, therefore, according to E. Dapkienė, the employees and customers of this Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit this store. “Today our stores are subject to extremely strict hygiene requirements: carts, baskets and other surfaces are regularly sanitized, and fresh air circulation is increased for store ventilation. Employees are also familiar with additional recommendations to avoid direct contact and maintaining a safe distance. We encourage employees to test for COVID-19 for prevention purposes in all municipalities that only organize such tests, “says E. Dapkienė.

A total of 32 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, of whom 23 have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 818 Maxima employees have been investigated for COVID-19. There are currently 33 employee test responses pending.
