“The decision to suspend the LIDL – MKL league championships for two weeks was dictated by the chaotic situations of the last few days. We had cases where teams traveling throughout Lithuania to the planned match received notifications at the last minute that cases of virus infection had been detected in rival teams, resulting in the cancellation of the match. There were also variants where coaches waited for team players to travel to the match and parents just didn’t let their children go to other cities to play the match, which again made all plans welcoming. This is very detrimental to the whole process, so we decided to stop everything to stabilize the situation a bit.
Of course, much will depend on the decisions and resolutions currently issued by the Government, but unfortunately, the number of cities in the country that enter the red zones is only increasing, which is definitely not favorable for the competitive activities of our league “, said Irmantas, director of LIDL – MKL Birbalas.

And we want to emphasize once again that the health of children, coaches and those around them are still in first place, ”added Birbal.
