On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda will meet with representatives of all the parties elected to the Seimas. Aušrinė Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party, also contacted the president at the palace on S. Daukantas square.
“It just came to our notice then. That there is a benevolent desire to communicate, to cooperate. That really makes me happy. In fact, I have come up with an open position where we have to talk about jobs first and only later specific candidacies for ministers. We agreed on that, “A. According to her, the coalition must first establish the priorities it wants to implement.
“People voted for the party, they gave it a mandate. That mandate is of different sizes. Naturally, those who obtained more of those votes or received support, should also have a greater representation in the executive branch. This is the logic of politics as such, excellent and logical, ”said A. Armonaitė.
The leader of the Freedom Party stressed that key human rights issues must be on the coalition’s agenda.
“For the goverment [darbų programos], It is not at all. Not everything is decided by the Government, laws are passed in the Seimas ”, assured the politician.
A. Armonaitė stated that his party’s main expectations for the coalition were a friendlier business environment, zero taxes on reinvested earnings so that businesses could expand, and a transformation of corporate oversight institutions;
plan to allocate 3 percent. GDP research, experiments, focus on education, so that starting next school year students learn according to updated and modern curricula;
preparation for a new referendum on multiple citizenship, which seeks to resolve the legalization of the institute association within 100 days, decriminalizing the possession of small amounts of drugs. The politician said he believed such changes would be sufficient in the new Seimas, as some of the coalition partners support the ideas.
“The fifth thing, such a universal and very important principle, is that the State should be governed by the principles of respect for human rights and private property. To rely on transparency, publicity, respect for freedom of expression, “said A. Armonaitė.
The Freedom Party has won 11 seats and is participating in negotiations for a center-right coalition with the 50 seats from the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union and 13 winners from the Liberal Movement.
