European epidemiologists forecast: second wave of growth promised for February

Former European Commissioner V. Andriukaitis assured that the current records are only the beginning.

“Epidemiologists predict the behavior of the virus and its new waves. So far, epidemiological scenarios suggest that even by February next year, the tide will rise, regardless of whether we will be able to respond adequately. If we fail, there will be many more cases of infection. In other words, the virus has its own development cycle and can respond to it, “he said on the show.

“The scenarios are not comforting, people need to know that,” V. Andriukaitis said on the radio show “Europos mainway”.

He said that the protocols provided by the WHO or the European Commission on the necessary security measures should become the daily work protocols of each company.

V. Andriukaitis mentioned the statements about overcoming the virus as one of the mistakes.

“It was wrong that we controlled everything, there will be a vaccine and everything will be fine,” he said.

He also criticized comments on the show that some age groups can’t even get the coronavirus. The interviewee affirmed the need to speak more often about the side effects of the coronavirus.

“You know, it is said that we now live in a new reality. You need to work, study, live, have fun, adapt to the new rules. But when they are not observed, when we relax and when there is fatigue, this further facilitates the spread of the virus, ”said V. Andriukaitis about the new number of diseases.

He called on all sectors to take a more responsible approach to the necessary safeguards.

“I believe that all sectors should be much more disciplined and encouraged in their activities, to take care that all occupational safety criteria, the requirements of the Communicable Diseases Law, that all conditions are carefully implemented,” said V. Andriukaitis.

The interlocutor of the program was surprised that there was talk of the hardening immediately after the elections.

“And that talk had to be constant,” he said.

“It just came to our knowledge then. This is absolutely clear. And yet the scenarios suggest that there could be even bigger waves. We must demand this very strictly of ourselves with all the necessary points,” he emphasized.

Others suffer from the desire to have fun

Kristina Garuolienė, Deputy Minister of Health, also spoke about the population that did not follow the instructions.

“Our behavior dictates the possibility of the virus spreading. (…) Not everyone is behaving responsibly, so we have the consequences that the virus has started to spread especially intensely in recent weeks,” he said the vice minister in the program.

The vice minister emphasized that the education of the children had to stop because of the desire to have fun.

“We see that little by little we enter into strict quarantine, more and more activities are restricted. It is very unfortunate to understand that such important activities as early childhood education and rehabilitation of disabled people must be interrupted by the fact that someone wants to have fun, ”said K. Garuolienė.
