As Veryga wrote, the current criticism coming from the opposition is not helping to manage the pandemic situation in the country.
“I appeal to you with a request and a call to end the unnecessary confrontation and the stories that this is not the case and it is not. The situation is deteriorating not only in Lithuania, but also practically throughout Europe. If it was a miracle solution, I have no doubt that it would have already been applied somewhere.
Unfortunately, it does not exist and it will be necessary to work very hard and intensely, looking for solutions that are not yet known to anyone. The confrontation that has continued until now does not help to manage a situation in which society continues to have doubts about the “statistics”, the quarantine management measures that are being adopted, etc.
So I suggest putting an end to the unnecessary confrontation and rhetoric of the leading opposition nowhere about the coronavirus, which is spreading around the world, “wrote A. Veryga.
A. Veryga also hinted at the search for a new minister, who, if a new representative is elected, could familiarize him with the current situation of Covid-19 in the country.
I invite you to decide as soon as possible who will be entrusted with the position of Minister of Health in the new Government. “I promise that I will help that person to familiarize himself with the situation in detail, introduce him to the existing institutions, staff activities, the means so that he does not have to plunge into cold water when starting work and try to orient himself by wasting precious time,” wrote.

The news portal tv3.lt recalls that the conservative leader Gabrielius Landsbergis, while awaiting the election results, said he had doubts that epidemiologists had reviewed the daily data on Sunday night.
The Health Ministry said the error occurred when the rapid growth in the number of diseases began to lead to a lack of human resources to process the data.
“It is very surprising that the same day that Lithuania did not count the cases is the day of the second round of the elections. Such a coincidence is probably more than resentful. And it is already clear that people who make hypotheses on social networks have not tried to hide the real situation from people by alleviating it a bit, without reducing the chances of people going to the polls, ”said G. Landsbergis.
Landsberg said that many questions were raised about the general management of the second wave of the pandemic and that it was difficult for conservatives to know the real situation while in opposition.
“We simply do not receive the information, it is very formal or very limited. If the choice of voters led to changes, first of all those changes would start with a briefing on the real situation in Lithuania, what we calculate and how much we can trust those figures, we would like both us and the public to know the real truth, “he said.
When asked about a specific outbreak management plan, G. Landsbergis says that he would trust the decisions of the list leader, Ingrida Šimonytė, on this issue. He said that conservatives in handling the situation would seek to listen more and trust the opinion of experts and speak about it openly.
“As far as I know, Ingrida Šimonytė has mentioned that she is considering specific personalities that could help resolve that situation. I would like to leave Ingrida Šimonyte to comment and communicate this situation. I am confident that she is determined to do whatever it takes, ”said the TS-LKD leader.
