“In all the situation these days, it seems that he will work in the opposition and try to implement the main provisions of the program,” V. Jukna said at the morning press conference.

According to him, the program of the Labor Party is very different from that of other parties. But they are already consulting with other parties about future work at the Seimas.

Consequently, several consultations are taking place today. To talk about it from the start, final decisions will need to be approved by the Labor Party Council, which we will report on later.

I can’t say anything more specific about the queries and their results today. {…} To this day we see that the ruling majority will be fragile enough.

We are debating, a consultancy is being carried out and we will inform in the near future which committees we are going to follow. We are consulting with all our strength, “said V. Jukna and did not specify whether he intended to go with the new rulers or not.

The opposition conservatives won the Seimas elections and began negotiations on a ruling center-right coalition with the Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party. However, the Labor Party was not invited to join the coalition, at least to some extent.

“It just came to our notice then. So far, we are happy with the results we have. We are ready for constructive work on the implementation of our program,” said V. Jukna.

Speaking about the health system, V. Jukna said that it is important that people can receive quality and timely medical services.

“We have seen how practically one disease remained in Lithuania since March 16, and no other disease remained. As statistics show, vascular diseases, tumors rank first and second in terms of deaths.

We are seeing those numbers rise, which shows that the situation is not being handled properly. “What should be done and how to do it – first of all, specialists and professionals in the field must have a voice,” said V. Jukna.
