Maxima employees have been diagnosed with a coronavirus in Klaipeda

Representatives of the Maxima retail chain note that they are currently unaware that there are more Maxima X stores in Klaipėda, Naikupės str. 18, workers would experience characteristic symptoms of COVID-19 infection. The interior of the store is disinfected, according to the Maxima report.

“A worker diagnosed with COVID-19 is currently being treated at home. During the epidemiological diagnosis, it was found that he may have had close contact with three colleagues who worked in the same Maxima X store. The employees were self-isolated. The COVID-19 infected worker had no close contact with customers. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and, if necessary, we will take the recommended actions ”, says Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Communication and Image Department of the Maxima retail chain.

The premises of the store where the employee infected with COVID-19 worked have been disinfected, so according to E. Dapkienė, the employees and customers of this Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit this store.

Starting this Monday, one of the twelve municipalities in the country, where quarantine is being introduced, will have the opportunity to receive a disposable mask free of charge. So far, free face masks have been distributed in Raseiniai, where local quarantine has been introduced. In municipalities where local quarantine has been introduced, the flow of shoppers to Maxima stores is restricted.

According to Maxima, a total of 32 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, 23 of whom have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 818 Maxima employees have been investigated for COVID-19. There are currently 33 employee test responses pending.
