Two other former members of the social workers faction Antanas Vinkus, who defeated (61.1%) the conservative Juozas Mažeikas (38.9%) in Curonian Spit, and Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė, who left the party, went to the Seimas elections with the “peasants.” He did not enter the second round in a single-member constituency, but entered the Seimas on the list of “peasants.”

The social workers were formed when in September 2017 the council of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party decided to withdraw from the ruling coalition with the “peasants” and the faction split.
From mid-October 2017, the parliamentary group was renamed the Social Democratic Labor Group, and a party with the same name was soon formed.
G. Kirkilas, who did not enter the Seimas and remained the sixth in the Fabijoniškės electoral district during the first round, promised that social workers as a party would remain and participate in the 2024 elections to the Seimas. During the period 1996-2012, the party did not form a faction.

V. Tomaševskis was elected to the Seimas for two terms, in 2000-2008, and has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009.
