R. Karbauskis thanked the people who attended the elections. He said voter turnout in the second round was higher than in 2016.

“We know what the situation is with the coronavirus. It means that people really care about power. And how it will become clear in a couple of hours. Nothing to say now, because so far small counties are arriving. There, everything is as it should be in a small county. And when the cities arrive, we’ll see ”, commented the leader of the“ campesinos ”.

R. Karbauskis said that he would very much like to see the results of the vote in Kaunas.

According to R. Karbauskis, in a few hours it will be clear who can form a new governing coalition.

S. Skvernelis first congratulated everyone on the victory of “Žalgiris”.

In the single-member Pilaitė-Karoliniškės constituency, he competed with conservative Radvile Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė in the second round. He said he was predicting actual voting results.

“Apparently, it is difficult for a peasant representative in Vilnius to win, but the results will be seen,” the prime minister said Sunday night.

When asked how many terms the LVŽS would predict in the second round of the Seimas elections, S. Skvernelis also said that it is difficult to predict. He urged to wait for the results.

S. Skvernelis said that his mood is very good. “I think Ramūnas is not bad either,” he added.

Both R. Karbauskis and S. Skvernelis assured that this week there were no talks about the possible formation of a coalition.

His “peasants” don’t plan tonight either. “Then we just realized. We didn’t make a decision overnight. Only in days”, – assured R. Karbauskis.

“What was received at night was ten years ago. If so, it will also be repeated tonight, “added S. Skvernelis.

Discussions about the coalition, according to the prime minister, will begin when everyone falls asleep and sees results.

“Perhaps there is no need for debate, perhaps the voters decide that everything is clear even without discussion. And it can be,” explained S. Skvernelis.

Descendant of the Conservatives

In the Seimas elections held two weeks ago, the LUJ won 16 seats in the multinominal constituency.

The opposition Conservatives received the most votes in the multi-member constituency, winning 23 parliamentary seats.

Ingrida Šimonytė, leader of the Union of the Homeland-Christian Democrats of Lithuania, won the first round in the single-member constituency of Antakalnis.

According to the results of the elections in the multi-member constituency, the Labor Party won nine seats, the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party and the Freedom Party eight seats each.

The Liberal Movement also crossed the Seimas barrier. According to the results of the elections in the multinominal constituency, the party will have 6 seats in the new legislature.
