Vaitulionis was surprised by the registration process in restaurants: why do I have to pay the obligation imposed by the state?

S. Vaitulionis was unpleasantly surprised when he went to his favorite restaurant, because it turns out that the registration in that restaurant is paid. The price of an SMS message is 20 cents, but for the complete registration it is necessary to send two SMS messages in total, so the registration price is 40 cents.

A communication specialist told the tv3.lt news portal that, in his opinion, there should be the right to choose whether or not to pay someone.

“OR [sumokėti registracijos mokestį] should not be mandatory. Registration should, in principle, be free, “he said.

The discussion about this on Facebook occurred in the post by S. Vaitulionis, in which he described the whole situation:

“About the inscriptions to bars and restaurants.

I say right away that it is very good and it will, but … WHY IS IT PAID? You come, scan the qr code, send sms – € 0.2, you get a confirmation, send a second sms that you agree and confirm. I understand the pennies here, but the principle itself. Why do I have to pay a state-imposed obligation?

Here’s a charge for wanting to eat. It is not that we eat, that we pay for food, that we drink. Here is usury for wanting to eat. Why do I have to pay for it?

And tomorrow will you have to pay to come to vote?

It is true that catering service providers registering customers must ensure that their data is properly protected and can choose how to register the people who visit.

The news portal tv3.lt recalls that as of October 26. residents will need to register to visit venues, entertainment, catering, nightclubs, and other venues. Exceptions are provided only when food is brought.

The opening hours of these places are limited from 7 to 24 hours.

“It is proposed to introduce compulsory visitor registration. It will ensure traceability in case of illness,” said Rita Tamašunienė, Minister of the Interior.

Exceptions will apply when food is delivered to go or otherwise. Likewise, when catering services are provided to employees of companies, institutions or organizations where shift work is carried out, in the territories and / or premises of these companies, institutions or organizations.

This measure, as announced in the Government Resolution, aims to facilitate the traceability of contact persons and their isolation.

“Practice shows that insufficient measures make contact tracing very difficult in hangouts, especially bars, nightclubs, and other entertainment venues that attract large flows of visitors, leading to a lengthy epidemiological investigation process and a burden of particularly greater work for researchers. This measure will allow a better identification of the contagion chain and organization of the epidemiological investigation process, “the document reads.
