New COVID-19 morbidity and mortality registries have been established in Latvia

According to the center, one coronavirus victim was in the 45-55 age group and three in the 80-90 age group.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 4,467 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Latvia; 52 people died from the disease, 1,357 recovered.

According to the National Health Service, another 27 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in the country on the last day and 13 previously ill people were discharged from medical facilities.

Currently, 127 people with coronavirus are being treated in Latvian hospitals, eight of whom are in serious condition.

Health Minister Ilzė Vinkelė recently said that Latvian hospitals have a total of 250 beds for treating COVID-19 patients. If the number of people hospitalized exceeds the number of places available, governments will have to address the problem urgently, he noted.
