A. Armonaitė said that he supported the position expressed by the Pope and was glad that there were people in the Catholic Church who wanted to change this institution and make it more open.
“It’s a lot of fun, actually. It should be added that in Lithuania, meanwhile, for example, our candidate from the Freedom Party in Kalvarija, who does not hide her LGBT orientation and plays the organ in the Šventežeris church, was ordered by her pastor not to appear in the church afterwards of the electoral campaign. It turns out that the Pope says one thing, and there are people who try to be holier than the Pope. “
According to the politician, he would like to create an environment in Lithuania that allows people to feel safe.
“I understand that my comrade shouldn’t feel really safe now, he shouldn’t feel capable of being himself and an equal member of the community. The goal of the Freedom Party is just to establish equality before the law, to create an environment where everyone can be themselves, ”he said.
R. Karbauskis said that the Church had not changed its dogma: you could not create one-sex families.
“Talking about (the Pope’s speech – ‘Delphi’) in this place is interesting for his interpretation, because he was talking about property and civil relations; that’s what we are talking about, no matter how people relate to them, they must be organized in a civil and proprietary sense. This statement is nothing new, and in Lithuania there is such concern all over the world. Of course, there are states that have legalized same-sex families, but we definitely will not do it. ” assured.
According to the politician, in a legal sense, such relationships must be resolved if a law by inheritance, etc. However, when speaking about the adoption of children and permission to form same-sex families, R. Karbauskis stressed that this is unacceptable in Lithuania and LVŽS does not promise to do so.
“It just came to our knowledge then. We are talking about civil and property relations, and I don’t know if a company law is needed to resolve property relations in the Civil Code.”
