A.Veryga: the system is not overloaded
The number of cases grows daily. What about hospital beds? Won’t we run out of them?
Veryga says the coronavirus patient beds will fill up quickly and you won’t have to wait several weeks.
However, according to him, 10.5 thousand. 17 thousand beds. beds in Lithuanian medical institutions are occupied. Resuscitation beds are occupied by just over half: 374 of the existing 657. Of the 593 beds with artificial pulmonary ventilation, 186 are occupied, of the 6.2 thousand. 1.9 thousand beds were occupied with oxygen.
“In general, the system is not overloaded.” We are filling the infectious diseases departments, but they will have to be located in other departments, which will mean a decrease in the number of scheduled services, “he said.
According to him, the suspension of scheduled services is not planned, but if the virus spreads in medical institutions, the possibility of caring for patients can become a challenge, since the rooms of the institutions will have to be closed.
Hospitals receive one twelfth of the funds received each month before the pandemic begins. This money is intended to compensate for the damage caused by the spread of the virus.
However, funding is provided if treatment facilities provide at least 70%. stationary and at least 80 percent. outpatient services prior to quarantine. As a result, managers of treatment facilities are beginning to fear that as the number of coronavirus patients increases, they will lose that money.
“When health facilities provide services to patients with COVID-19, reorganize their activities and thus change their operational profile, they certainly will not suffer, they can be at ease,” he explained.
However, he stressed that this does not mean that other institutions can reduce the scope of their services.
According to him, the procedure for the allocation of a twelfth of the funds is currently adjusted and the results are calculated quarterly instead of one month. Exceptions are also foreseen in the event of an outbreak in establishments.
It spreads in maternity homes

“There will be no option for them not to go to the maternity hospital,” said A. Veryga.
It is recommended not to go to the Žalgiris game
“I find that massive participation really bad. But for me, the question itself is interesting: everyone is waiting for a miraculous ban to be banned. Is it necessary to ban and put a policeman next to everyone so they don’t come to the game?” He asked, asking for his assessment of the fact that all tickets for Thursday’s Žalgiris game have been sold.
A.Veryga said that people who love their team and have bought tickets could not come to the match, they would have supported their team and would not risk their health and the health of other people.
“You may not go to that game, I think the team will understand perfectly if you do. You will act as a citizen, support the club and at the same time protect your health and that of the other people who come,” said the minister.
In Vėlines, it is recommended to limit yourself to visiting the tombs.
Evening is coming: what do you need to know when you go to the municipalities where the local quarantine has been announced?
“It must be remembered that groups of more than 5 people cannot meet there,” the minister recalled.
According to him, people will not have to take care of anything in the places of provision of services, the stores: the requirements have been established and the entrepreneurs will have to take care of them. Additional requirements are set for public transportation to and from local quarantine zones.
“We just learned then to visit the graves of our loved ones. The possibility of the virus spreading abroad is small, if we keep our distance, wear masks and really protect ourselves, ”the Minister emphasized. According to him, family visits should be avoided.

“It just came to our attention then. The number of infected people is growing,” the minister said Thursday.

The government approved certain restrictions on Wednesday. – from shortening the working day in cafes and bars, registering your customers to a week of distance training.
One of the decisions the government made on Wednesday was to divide the municipalities into three zones: red, yellow and green. s
Municipalities will be zoned for morbidity on Friday, and the list itself and recommendations for managing the virus will go into effect on Monday. However, the decision to quarantine them will be made by the government on Wednesdays.
The quarantine in the most affected municipalities will be introduced from the 26th. Why?
“It should not be related to the elections, it was done so that the municipalities could prepare,” explained A. Veryga.
Speaking about the fact that Vilnius Night Alliance intends to go to court to reduce the opening hours of nightclubs to 12 noon, Veryga said that the situation is getting worse every day, so there is no time to wait and see if bars can control the spread of the coronavirus on their own.
