The Prime Minister voted in the single-member constituency of Nemenčinė, where Justas Džiugelis, candidate of the Union of the Fatherland – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD), and Rita Tamašunienė, candidate of the Polish Lithuanian Election Campaign – Union of Christian Families, met (LLRA-KŠS).

“It just came to our knowledge then. (Elegí, aut. P.) Based on how a person has worked in the Seimas for four years, how they represent their voters, what are the values and values. It was not difficult for me,” he said S. Skvernelis.

“The main expectation is that the people will be heard, there will be no government attitude, which unfortunately happens very often,” said the prime minister.

When asked or consulted with his wife what to support in the elections, the prime minister said no. However, it is likely that he supports the same candidate.

S. Skvernelis told the media that he had one hope for the results of these Seimas elections: that as many people as possible would attend the elections.

The government made a series of new changes on Wednesday to handle the coronavirus pandemic. Starting Monday, the local quarantine will be introduced in 12 municipalities of the country, as well as it will be extended in the Raseiniai district, the mandatory registration of visitors will appear, the catering places, bars and restaurants will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight . When asked if these decisions had been coordinated with the representatives, the prime minister said that the government had to make a decision.

“There are debates and discussions all the time. We went through the same situation in March, in the summer. We stick to different opinions. There is a commercial interest, only an economic one. Unfortunately, we have to seek and achieve a balance between the interests of companies and the life and the health of society. I believe that the decision to reduce the working day from a few hours to two weeks is necessary, it does not close institutions “, the Prime Minister explained the decisions.

He reiterated and urged people to be responsible.

“Suffer for two weeks and don’t go to places where there is a greater risk,” he said.

Entrepreneurs are already preparing to go to court over new restrictions. The Prime Minister described this as a “normal practice of the rule of law”.

Delfi recalls that on Thursday his vote in the Seimas elections can still be cast in a preliminary vote. On Sunday, election day, voting will take place from 7 am to 8 pm. In the second round of the Seimas elections, 68 parliamentarians are elected.
