Until November 8, the transition to distance education is also offered to higher education institutions.

“A two-week form of non-contact training, vacation and distance learning is being introduced,” said Rita Tamašunienė, the Interior Minister, who presented the amendments to the government meeting.

The amendments will enter into force on Monday, approved unanimously by the Council of Ministers.

“Education in schools according to the basic education secondary, individualized social skills development programs is carried out remotely, it is recommended to implement higher education study programs remotely, if the administrators of the education provider make that decision “, R. Tamašunienė presented the proposal.

The amendments to the resolution establish that after school holidays, preschool, preschool education, professional training will take place in the usual way, ensuring the established conditions of personal flow management, safe distance and other conditions. Non-formal education for children and adults will have to be at a distance or interrupted.

At the time, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis clarified at a press conference that distance learning after the holidays is also disabled for beginners.

“For four days, the usual activities will be organized in preschool, preschool, primary and vocational educational institutions,” the prime minister told reporters after the meeting.

As of November 9, preschool, preschool, general education, non-formal education for children and adults, professional training, higher education studies in educational institutions will be carried out, guaranteeing safe distance and other hygiene conditions.

A. Veryga: distance learning can continue

The Minister of Health stressed that the term of distance education coincides with the two-week quarantine announced by the Government in a fifth of the country’s municipalities, so, according to him, it will be evaluated in each individual case if it continues with distance education.

“Of course, any meeting restrictions should improve the situation. And if that will be enough, if additional solutions will be needed, we will see in two weeks. Yes, if the situation is still very bad, at least in that primary and secondary education, it is likely to continue (distance education – BNS). But for now, it is a theoretical consideration, “he told reporters after the government meeting.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport also emphasizes that all schools will return from distance education to general education, with the exception of municipal institutions in the red zone, where “education can only be provided remotely.”
