The pushed and demolished destroyer turned to the police.

The demolition of P. Ruseckas’ historic village in Perkūno Alley received not only great public outrage, but also the attention of state institutions. After collecting the signatures of some 200 residents, an investigation was requested, finding those responsible for the destruction of the town and the obligation to restore it.

The incident, the circumstances of which are currently being investigated by officers from the Kaunas Žaliakalnis Police Station, was also unavoidable.

After receiving a statement from an employee of the company that demolished the building on Saturday, October 17, a pre-trial investigation was launched for a possible violation of public order. The applicant claimed that violence had been used against him during the observation of many people, which had been covered by the media. In the statement, he mentioned that he had experienced unpleasant sensations, as well as hurts, and felt publicly humiliated.

The incident itself was filmed and later distributed through the media. The images show how the worker is pushed by the architect and public figure of Kaunas Audrys Karalius, who had previously ripped the mask from his face.

When a man falls to the ground, the building is knocked down and after a moment he gets up and walks away, but A. Karalius stands in his way. The video shows that the incident occurred under the surveillance of many people and calls were made to call the police. The man presented a medical certificate stating the injuries he may have sustained in the fall.

The accusations have yet to be made

The prosecutor in charge of the pre-trial investigation told the Delfi portal that the conclusions of the forensic experts are currently awaited.

“The pre-trial investigation for a violation of public order has begun, but the rating is not final until today, it may change. Everything will depend on what decision is made after receiving all the material, evaluating all the data collected.

A medical statement has been received, but we still do not have the opinion of the forensic experts, ”said Edita Sangavičiūtė, Prosecutor of the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office who oversees the pre-trial investigation.

It will depend on the verdict of the experts if the judicial investigation initiated for breach of public order will be complemented with articles of the Penal Code that provide for responsibility for causing physical pain or health disorders.

Proof of guilt would result in a fine, arrest, or imprisonment

According to the prosecutor, the investigation is greatly facilitated by the fact that the incident was filmed. Although it is clear from the video, which was distributed through the media, that the person is being pushed by A. Karalius of Kaunas, the report of the suspicion has not been delivered to him.

“It just came to our attention then. Until I have all the material, I cannot say that everything will be done this week. That it is a crime is a fact, just a question of how it will be qualified. And there must be consequences, violence against people is not possible, regardless of who it is, ”said prosecutor E. Sangavičiūtė.

A. Karalius claims to have defended the honor and dignity of the state and the public interest

The architect of Kaunas A. Karalius, famous for his active social activity and who does not shy away from the sharpest speeches, did not deny that he destroyed a representative of the company who destroyed the historic building during the conflict, emphasizing that he did not use his fists and gave your explanation of why and why.

“Three days of aggression, during which the illegal demolition of a historic building is carried out with an undercover company, with undercover people. When a three-day disability of the institutions” leads “to such a situation Force Majeure (Forced invincible – ed.) demolition on the weekend, not on a weekday, this is where essential research should be directed, ”said A. Karalius.

He questioned why the letter from the building inspection ordering the suspension of the demolition work since last Friday had not reached the client and the police, heritage conservationists, why an appeal had not been filed with the court to grant precautionary measures .

“I defended Force Majeure the honor and dignity of the Lithuanian state and the public interest in the situation. My actions were completely appropriate in those circumstances, ”said A. Karalius.

He mentioned that the conflict situation arose when the wrecker cynically apologized, even asking the environmentalists who arrived to present themselves, indicate the name of the company and deliver the documents that must be present at the site.

“Then I took off the mask and told myself that time was up, now you have to present documents, introduce yourself and so on. At that point, the “active body language” occurred. Those words were accompanied by a movement and a miracle happened: the man remembered the name, the company, the documents he did not have. All work stopped, that citizen fled, went to bring documents, and did not return. So now answer, you needed that action right?

If that action had not taken place, if the destroyer had not collapsed, now we would have an equal place here and we would all have been despised and humiliated. I am very sorry that I was forced to adopt active body language, but in my head it was appropriate Force Majeure circumstances, ”said A. Karalius.
