On Monday, 205 new COVID-19 infections were registered in the country. 70 of them were registered in Vilnius, 44 in Šiauliai, 27 in Kaunas, 22 in Klaipėda, 21 in Telšiai, 7 in Marijampolė and Panevėžys, 6 in Tauragė and 1 in Alytus counties. Three more people were also reported to have died of coronavirus on Monday.
Health Minister A.Veryga told a press conference that solutions are being sought to allocate additional funds to NVSC doctors and employees without announcing the quarantine. Who could help the NVSC epidemiologists is also being considered.
The Ministry of Health has also updated the regulations on isolation at home, in another place of residence or in premises provided by the municipal administration. From now on, exceptions will apply to people in isolation in cases where they want to go to the polls in the elections to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania and when they visit the cemeteries of their relatives. In addition, people who need to be isolated will no longer need to sign a consent, it will be enough to express it by phone (call or short SMS) or email.
At that time, in the Raseiniai district, where the coronavirus outbreak is one of the largest in the country, the quarantine will be extended for another two weeks under the same conditions as before.
