According to her, the coronavirus has so far been detected in the employees of two districts of the southern district of Nalšia in the district of Švenčionys and in two adjacent districts of the district of Gargždai in the district of Klaipėda.

“In cooperation with the National Center for Public Health, those who have been diagnosed with coronavirus have been isolated and their work in electoral commissions is not possible. In the near future, COVID-19 tests should be performed on other members, it is clarified whether they had close contact with sick members of the commission, ”L. Matjošaitytė told BNS.

According to her, the members of the commissions of both districts of the Nalšia Sur electoral district are already in isolation and will not work during the elections.

“They will not participate in the elections, we will form a slightly renewed commission, we will appoint additional members either from our reserve or from the director of the municipal administration to fix the statutory number of members when opening the district and organizing the work,” he said.

In the Gargždai constituency, workers in the couple’s constituency are still being screened to see if they have had close contact, are at low risk and “can work on election day.”

“If it is decided here that all members of the commission should be in self-isolation, then of course we will renew the commission and other members of the commission will continue their work,” confirmed the president of the CEC.

The second round of the Seimas elections will take place on Sunday and voting will begin early on Monday.
