The new procedure is planned by order of the Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga, which entered into force on Saturday October 17. The changes take into account the most urgent needs of the country’s population, according to the press release.

Voters in contact may leave the place of isolation

Isolated individuals who do not experience coronavirus symptoms should be treated once and for up to 3 hours. will be able to leave the place of isolation. The Ministry emphasizes that the exemption only applies to people who have been in contact with COVID-19 and only during a four-day pre-vote, which will take place from October 19 to 22. from 7 pm to 8 pm

Voters must arrive at early voting centers by their own transportation. They are advised to go one by one. It is mandatory to return to the isolation site immediately after voting.

Protective equipment that covers the nose and mouth (masks, respirators, etc.) must be worn when voting.

Voters with COVID-19 and isolation will not be able to vote early, but will still have the opportunity to vote at home.

An exception to isolation is when visiting nearby graves.

Isolation is not compulsory for Polish citizens and people legally residing in Poland who come to Lithuania to visit the graves of passersby from October 30. until November 2.

Furthermore, the isolation requirement does not apply to Lithuanian citizens or people legally residing in Lithuania who will visit nearby graves in neighboring Poland on the mentioned days.

It will be possible to agree to be isolated by phone and online.

Another innovation of the isolation rules is that consent to isolation will be available from now on not only in writing but also in other ways.

Those who have been or are suspected of having been exposed to COVID-19 to COVID-19 will no longer have to sign a paper isolation consent form if they are informed by the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) of the need for isolation if information on mandatory isolation is obtained and consent is given. phone while recording a call.

It will also be possible to receive a consent form for those who need to be isolated via short SMS and email.

Exceptions for athletes, seafarers and Polish citizens

SAM recalls that the exclusion exception also applies to highly qualified athletes, sports professionals, sports instructors, sports medical personnel participating in international tournaments, for whose organization separate international rules on the management of coronavirus have been established and approved.

Furthermore, from now on, isolation is not mandatory for seafarers arriving in Lithuania after a trip or shift at sea.

Isolation is also not required for people coming from Poland when traveling for work, study, agricultural activities or medical care.

Duration of patient isolation in Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital is getting shorter

The change in the procedure when a person is considered to have recovered from a coronavirus shortens the stay of those in isolation at the Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital, where people with a mild form of this infection are isolated and monitored.

From now on, the isolation of patients with isolated mild coronavirus at the Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital can be interrupted and patients can be discharged 10 days after the onset of symptoms if symptoms disappear and the patient has no fever. for at least 24 hours without antipyretics.

If the symptoms of the disease disappeared after the 10th day of the disease, the isolation may be interrupted and the patients will be discharged from the Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital at least 3 days after the disappearance of the symptoms.

It should be noted that in asymptomatic patients with coronavirus infection by molecular PCR, isolation can be interrupted and patients can be discharged from the Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital 10 days after the first detection of coronavirus in a nasopharyngeal sample by PCR.

Additionally, coronavirus testing will not be repeated by PCR during treatment or monitoring, unless a decision is made to terminate isolation earlier than recommended or in the presence of severe immunosuppression, i.e. suppression of human immunity.

As before, the collection and presentation of the test smear is organized in cooperation with the Vilnius City Municipality.

Currently, 26 people with a mild coronavirus infection have been isolated at the Abromiškės Rehabilitation Hospital.
