That is why today we decided to pay supplements to doctors in 5 hospitals who work directly with the virus. and allocate additional resources to strengthen the National Center for Public Health and motivate its employees, ”says S. Skvernelis.

“The coronavirus continues to spread in Lithuania. A particularly threatening situation in several municipalities. The number of infected people in the Raseiniai district exceeds 850 per 100,000 inhabitants. In Kelmė – 314, in the Šiauliai district – 200. The situation is tense in the city of Šiauliai, Joniškis, Švenčionys, Plungė, Radviliškis.
COVID-19 patients are already treated with 57% of so-called “crib” beds. When we reach 70%, we will be forced to suspend certain scheduled services so that our doctors can direct resources to treat the new coronavirus, “he writes.
The Prime Minister emphasizes that in the near future, the most endangered municipalities will receive strict recommendations for the management of the virus.
“I ask everyone to follow these rules. On Wednesday, all municipalities will be divided into red, yellow and green groups. Each group will receive very detailed and clear recommendations on how to combat the spread of the virus,” says the Prime Minister.
If these measures do not help, we will be forced to introduce local quarantines in separate municipalities, adds S. Skvernelis.
“I want to emphasize once again that it is safe to vote in the Seimas elections. The electoral commissions are ready to work in the face of a pandemic. Therefore, I ask everyone to carry out their civic duty safely.
Students’ fall break begins next week. The children will not go to school. Then it will be time for adults to take a break from public life, thus protecting themselves and others from the spread of the virus, “he writes on Facebook.
