The National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reports that 252 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Lithuania last day. 97 of them were registered in Vilnius, 43 in Klaipėda, 39 in Kaunas, 23 in Šiauliai counties. Another 20 cases were recorded in Panevėžys, 10 Tauragė, 9 Telšiai, 6 Alytus and 5 Marijampolė counties.
After contact with people confirmed by coronavirus, epidemiologists estimated that 154 people were infected last day, based on currently available data. In addition, 5 import cases were recorded: 2 from Belgium, 1 from Poland, Ukraine and Russia. At that time, the circumstances of the infection of 62 people were unclear, that is, epidemiological studies revealed that the people had not gone abroad and were not interacting with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
In addition, the epidemiological diagnosis of 31 cases has not yet begun in Vilnius County (these cases are included in the total number of Vilnius County: 97), so it is not yet clear under what circumstances these people were infected.
The NVSC warns that the case study in the region will be delayed today. This means that those who have been informed that they have been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection without waiting for a call from NVSC specialists should isolate themselves and warn people that they may have been at high risk.

On the last day in Vilnius county 6 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded, related to the outbreak in Vilnius kindergarten “Žemyna”, 5 cases were related to the outbreak in Vilnius Martynas Mažvydas progymnasium, 1 of each – with the outbreak in Ukmergė Old Town progymnasium Laičiai primary school In the gymnasium Basanavičius.
There are also 6 cases of an outbreak at Intersurgical in Pabradė, of which 5 are workers and 1 is a secondary case. Another 2 cases in Vilnius are associated with an outbreak in Regitra, one of which is an employee and the other a secondary case. Case 1 in Vilnius is associated with an outbreak in the Lithuanian mail.
Another 4 cases are related to the outbreak in the company “Modern Studio”, of which 3 people are residents of Alytus County.
It is estimated that 9 cases of contagion confirmed on Saturday are related to the outbreak at the Palanga Rehabilitation Hospital. 5 of these cases were registered for residents of Klaipėda county, 2 – for residents of Telšiai and Šiauliai counties.
Another 2 cases in Klaipeda are associated with an outbreak in the Rotary Club, and 1 case each with outbreaks in Gilija Primary School, Klaipėda Ernestas Galvanauskas Vocational Training Center, Klaipėda Basketball School and Lithuanian Maritime School. Case 1 is also associated with an outbreak in the Department of Psychiatry at the Klaipėda Seafarers Hospital (Švėkšna).
In Kaunas County, 3 cases of infection are associated with Blinstrubiškės welfare homes operating in Raseiniai district, of which 2 are employed and 1 is a secondary case in the family. 1 case of infection is associated with outbreaks in Raseiniai Hospital and Raseiniai Highway Service. Another 2 cases, confirmed yesterday, are related to the outbreak in the Zapyškis nursing home.
There are also 3 COVID-19 cases, confirmed Saturday, related to the outbreak at the Kaunas Clinics Department of Surgery, two of which are employees and one patient who lives in Alytus County. In addition, a new outbreak occurred at the Vilkija Primary Health Care Center in Kaunas district. Here, the infection was confirmed in 2 employees.
In Šiauliai county, 2 cases of coronavirus are associated with outbreaks in the Šiauliai “Spindulys” educational center, as well as in the Joniškis “Saulė” basic school day employment center. In addition, 2 cases of COVID-19 disease were confirmed to employees of the company “Raštuoti mezginiai” operating in Šiauliai.
Another case was recorded last day in the Lioliai welfare home outbreak, where the employee was confirmed COVID-19 (a total of 16 related cases). A new chimney was also registered in the Kelmė district municipality: yesterday the coronavirus was confirmed to an employee of the institution.
Furthermore, a case in Šiauliai county, as determined during the epidemiological study, is possibly related to a visit to the “Sanatorija” bar operating in Vilnius.
In Panevėžys County, 8 cases are related to the outbreak at Pasvalys Police Station, of which 2 people are employees and 6 secondary cases in families.
Another 6 cases in Panevėžys County are associated with the outbreak at the Panevėžys Republican Hospital Infectious Disease Clinic, of which 4 people are patients and one employee and one secondary case.
In Tauragė County, one case is estimated to be related to an outbreak at Jurbarkas Hospital. At that time, in Telšiai county, 1 case of infection, according to epidemiologists, is related to outbreaks in the Šateikiai nursing home in Plung distrito district and in the Technoexport Storage company operating in Plungė.
In Marijampolė County, 5 cases related to the outbreak were reported in Marijampolė special social care homes on the last day. All people are residents of these houses. A total of 25 infections are estimated to be associated with the outbreak: 18 residents and 7 workers.
NVSC reports that a total of 7,521 cases of the COVID-19 disease have been confirmed in Lithuania, 4,276 people are still ill, 3,097 have recovered.
