On Thursday, the director of the Administration, Povilas Poderskis, announced what actions they promise to take. It was decided to apply the measures according to the recommendations of epidemiologists.

You want to make accurate decisions

Podersky said the situation in the municipality was not the worst.

“The situation is certainly not better, but it is certainly not as bad as in many other Lithuanian municipalities. We are only behind Kaunas, ”said P. Poderskis.

The municipality strives to make accurate and precise decisions.

“We will talk to bars and sports clubs at the end of this week, because they are currently afraid of the recommendations that the National Center of Public Health offered yesterday to close them,” said the Director of Administration.

The number of tests will increase.

According to the municipality, the most important thing is to increase the number of tests and communicate with the institutions where coronavirus cases are detected.

“It will be necessary to increase the scope of the tests, which is one of the key things in determining the spread points of the virus. We plan to increase it to 1,000 cases per day. We will invite people from certain groups who have great contacts, such as sports coaches or who work in human service, to perform the test, ”said P. Poderskis

According to Mr. Podersky, it is important to remind residents of the capital of the recommendations that have already been adopted

“It just came to our knowledge then. And recommendations on telework, use of masks, hygiene, etc., and that must be remembered. We will do it,” said the Director of Administration.

It is not necessary to close the entire sector

According to the municipality, the most important thing is to manage the situation by finding the sources of contagion.

“People who close should not become politicized, so we want to make informed decisions. We will consult with certain agencies to ensure that visitors follow the recommendations, and we will try to resolve the situation.

We will suggest bars to more actively encourage visitors to wear masks, to keep their distance. We will try to solve everything through dialogue so that the entire sector does not have to be closed, ”said P. Poderskis.

They must be located so that the entire sector does not have to close down in the future.

“Today we already have a closed kindergarten” Žemyna “, but there is no need to close the entire sector if it is just one case. The event must be localized. Now the algorithms have been developed and everyone knows where to go and who to call, so it is really possible to control cases ”, said the Director of Administration.

According to Mr. Podersky, the most important thing is to work with what is already known.

“We need to work on what we have, not close all sectors. We are working with NVSC and will present a more detailed plan next week. We will strengthen collaboration and testing this week.

The most important thing is not the number of cases, but the handling of the situation. We need to find out what the cases of the virus are, where they are and then we can name the situation as controlled, “said P. Poderskis.

Ask for restrictions

The portal tv3.lt recalls that the NVSC asks that measures be taken in Vilnius to improve the management of the coronavirus infection.

NVSC in Vilnius recommended temporarily restricting active leisure activities indoors, during which the use of respiratory protective equipment could not be guaranteed, such as group sports training, dancing activities, singing and reducing the working hours of the pubs.

NVSC representative Austina Vžesniauskaitė said that activities in places of entertainment, where many people gather and who are unfamiliar, often do not communicate with each other, make contact tracing difficult and are dangerous.

For this reason, we invite you to limit this type of activity, be it sports clubs, dances or others. If there are individual classes, if they can be organized, it would probably be a different possibility, if three people who know each other are engaged, or only one person with a coach, ”said A. Vžesniauskaitė.

In response to the calls, the Vilnius City Municipality said on Wednesday that it did not intend to make hasty decisions.

“We will certainly evaluate and examine the letter carefully, but we will not make hasty decisions, because I believe that our decisions should be based on data. Yes, there are some cases in nightclubs, but does this mean that it is necessary to close the entire sector?” Povilas Poderskis, Director of the Vilnius City Municipality Administration.

However, the number of infected people in the municipality is growing rapidly. During the last day, 111 cases were registered in Vilnius.
