Almost half of the new coronavirus cases have been detected in Vilnius county, the virus is spreading in schools, bars, educational institutions, residences

A total of 6,760 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the country. 2,983 people recovered from the disease and 3,635 fell ill. Currently 34,505 people need to be isolated. Another person died. A total of 110 people died from coronavirus, 32 had side effects.

Almost half of the new cases are in Vilnius county.

111 new cases were registered in Vilnius county, 58 in Šiauliai, 39 in Kaunas, 28 in Klaipėda, seven in Panevėžys, five in Marijampolė, four in Telšiai and three in Alytus counties.

Four imports come from Ukraine, one from Germany, Belgium, Poland, Norway and France.

The outbreaks are associated with 107 of the known circumstances: they are registered in bars in the capital, new cases are associated with outbreaks in municipal and police institutions, and the virus continues to spread in educational institutions.

The bars visited infected

Four new cases of coronavirus in Vilnius County are associated with an outbreak at the Foreigners Registration Center in Pabradė, three cases are associated with an outbreak at the SOS Children’s Village in Vilnius and four cases are related to an outbreak in the Forces Armed Forces of Lithuania.

Two new cases are related to the bodies that took place in the Ringaudai armory room (Tabariškės funeral home).

Two more are related to the Kartena branch of the Kretinga Cultural Center.

In Telšiai county, three cases of infection are associated with a choir rehearsal, which took place on October 6.

In Alytus County, one case is related to an outbreak in Druskininkai Township, and in Panevėžys County, one case is related to an outbreak in Pasvalys Police Station.

The virus is spreading in educational institutions

New cases of coronavirus continue to be registered in educational and medical institutions. In Vilnius County, nine cases are related to the Vilnius “Žemyna” kindergarten, six to the Jonas Basanavičius gymnasium in Vilnius, two to the Progymnasium Martynas Mažvydas in Vilnius and it is estimated that two cases are related to the Rudamina gymnasium. “Rytas” from the Vilnius district.

Three more cases are related to the outbreak at the Švenčionėliai King Mindaugas Gymnasium in Švenčionys district, as well as three cases at the Pabe Žeimena gym in Švenčionys district.

Two cases in Kaunas County are estimated to be related to the outbreak at the Vaižgantas progymnasium of Kaunas University of Technology. In Klaipėda County, two cases are associated with an outbreak at the Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium.

In Panevėžys county, a case is associated with an outbreak at the Antanas Gudaitis Faculty of Aviation of the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.

New cases: in medical and care institutions

Three new cases in Kaunas County are related to the Department of Cardiology at LSMU Kaunas Hospital, four to the Blinstrubiškės Welfare Home located in the Raseiniai District, where three more wards and one employee became ill.

Seven cases of coronavirus were recorded in the Lioliai welfare home located in Kelmė district, and people were screened prophylactically. Here a total of 13 cases were registered: 12 wards and one employee.

Nine new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the Joniškis Social Services Center, as well as three cases of infection related to the Joniškis ambulance were confirmed, and more cases related to the Joniškis Saulinis Basic School Day Employment Center were registered; two related cases were registered last day.

One case is related to an outbreak in the Marijampolė special welfare home. The tests were conducted on 39 residents of these houses on Wednesday, pending the test results.
