“The First Day” is a monument not only to the illustrator, pedagogue, publicist, public figure, author of school textbooks Jonas Murka, but in general, probably the first monument to the Teacher in Lithuania. This is a beautiful example of sponsorship. The base of the sculpture is a book that symbolizes the source of knowledge from which the tree grows. The black ball at the top symbolizes the darkness through which the penetrating rays recall the light that destroys the darkness. The lighting light is spreading to six countries in the world.
3. Cannon in the White House

At the entrance to the White Palace of Šiauliai, Casa Venclauskiai, visitors are greeted by a cannon cannon. It is a 17th-18th century. Swedish cannon tube, 1935 brought to Šiauliai from the liquidated Klaipėda Harbor Museum. The cannon was probably used in the Seven Years’ War (1756-1763), but historians cannot confirm or deny it. The barrel is made of steel, its length is 138 cm. The canyon has been near the Venclauskiai house for more than 50 years, so it has become something of a symbol of home. Residents of Šiauliai sometimes call Venclauskiai’s house a palace by the canyon.
4. Shoemaker

A tree grows on the boulevard of the city, with more and more pairs of shoes on its branches. They look best when the tree drops its leaves. But even in summer it is interesting to calculate how many and which shoes fit there. How did they get there? Teens who ride skateboards, roller blades, BMX bikes throw their shoes in the branches after the season.
5. The hardest and biggest book

You will definitely not read that in bed before going to bed, because Vilius Puronas work weighs up to 113,669 kg, the book is 1.25 m high, 90 cm wide and 25 cm thick. It contains research, conclusions, assumptions from local historians and historians, as well as legends, works by Šiauliai writers and musicians about the Salduvė mound and their vision for the future. In addition to Lithuanian, several articles are in Latvian and Prussian. The book is illustrated with works and collages by artists from different periods. You will find the publication in the Šiauliai University Library.
