The wives returned to Lithuania to bury, but also did not expect to lose children: the call of the children’s rights service became a real blow

Since the father himself is fluent in Lithuanian, his sister and nephew explained the situation in detail to Delfi. Family members also shared documents that were sent to the court and to the Children’s Rights Service. The complaints were written not only by the father, but also by his sister and daughter from the first marriage, but no one was able to obtain permission to meet the children in court. They suspect that descendants who have not reached the age of majority will be officially deprived.

We also note that we are unable to reveal the names of the participants in this story due to the best interests of minor children.

He had problems with alcoholism.

It all started, relatives said, in 2016, when the children’s mother started drinking heavily. According to them, the father in England since 2012. worked, always cared for and visited the family. 2016 the wife and children also moved here.

“I once learned that services are invited to a home in Lithuania, where the deceased was living with the children and their parents at the time, and the children can be taken. I went there to see how things looked. At first , no one opened the door for me, but a neighbor warned me that my brother’s wife was fighting a mother who did not want her to go to London. After the call to my brother, the door was opened but he was not invited to the House.

When I saw the children’s mother, I realized that the problems with alcoholism are great, her face was beaten. We decided that it would be best for her to live abroad with her husband, so the next day I took her to the Immigration Department, helped me get a passport, and the whole family moved there. There was a photo in his passport with his face beaten, “said the man’s sister.

There, he said, the family had lived for four years, but the mother’s alcoholism could not be fully cured. According to relatives, the children’s father continued to work all that time and the mother also tried to work, but it was too difficult for her.

“Understand, it was necessary for someone to take care of two small children, feed them, dress them, take them to school. It was his duty, but he was unable to give up alcohol completely, causing the family to be registered in England as a social risk and the woman’s health deteriorated. However, I must emphasize that during those four years, their relatives have never visited here, and I and my son who live there have always been in contact with them, visiting them, without noticing any violence ”, explained the sister.

The husband’s nephew pointed out that in the end the children’s mother sadly reached that limit when she died due to the health consequences of alcohol, and it was decided to bury her in her native Lithuania.

After the funeral – a hit

“The father returned to Lithuania with the children and the remains of his wife, and the school in England, which worked closely with the family, was informed about the funeral. September 11 he and his children visited the migration service, where the girl received a new passport. September 11-12. The funeral took place, we did not suspect anything wrong, although we had long felt that our uncle was blamed for his wife’s problems, “explained the nephew.

The husband’s sister claimed that after the funeral, she visited the children and their mother (the children’s grandmother, Delfi) for two days, then allowed them until September 20. children to visit the parents of the late second semester.

“They were still planning on Sept. 21. To go to sea, and Sept. 23-24. Return to London. However, on Sept. 19. when the mother of the deceased’s wife called, the brother answered and told them to wait for a call from the commission on children’s rights. “

On September 20, relatives said, the children’s father until 8 p.m. called the late mother and father of all known phone numbers, but no one answered, and at 9 p.m. with his daughter from the first marriage he went to his house, but nobody opened them.

“They called the police, who advised them to contact the police station the next morning for clarification.”

According to relatives, the next day they called the father of the children’s rights service and asked if he could come and speak. There, the service showed the man a letter in Lithuanian that, in the children’s words, the father allegedly beat the mother and the children. Relatives found it very strange that the children could say this because they do not speak Lithuanian. The father did not agree with such written statements, so he was instructed to wait to learn.

“It has also been said that the girl does not know how to comb her hair herself, but that is not true. We believe that after the death of a mother, children experience stress and it is easy to use them, ”said the man’s sister.

Compare the situation with the Kručinskienė case

Relatives believe that during the week the children were allowed to grandparents by the deceased wife, they were convicted against the father. In his opinion, it is revenge.

“When we began to explain the whole situation and received the documents, it turned out that in revenge, the mother’s family somehow convinced the children to be afraid of their father, that their father beat them, that he was a former mobster . The children’s testimonies that they were afraid of their father, because they were asked or were afraid of him, received the answer “that he is not afraid of such a bull.” It’s strange that children who didn’t speak Lithuanian could use such a comparison, ”the nephew wondered.

He also compared this situation to the widely heard Kručinskas case, when an anonymous call caused the children’s mother to struggle after court and almost lose them.

“The father has recommendations from work, from the school where the children studied. The school’s deputy principal also wanted to testify, but the document indicates to the court that his allegations cannot be verified. The father is helped more now by the daughter, who has grown up, which also says a lot, she never complained about the father’s violence.

Due to the circumstances that have arisen in this way, the family assures that it is still paralyzed, has hired a lawyer, but fears that everything has already been decided regarding the abduction of the minors. Family members are also concerned that it is not entirely clear where the children are, their right to education has been violated and, although the rights of the father have been restricted, no charges have been brought against him, no procedural restrictions have been imposed , but he still doesn’t know where the descendants can’t see them.

Other relatives are not allowed to do the same, although, as far as they know, the other party had that opportunity.

Deputy headmaster of a school in England: the children were well looked after

The husband’s relatives also shared a letter sent to the services by an assistant principal of an English school who became interested in the story when the children did not return to school on time. In it, the deputy stated that he had worked with this family for four years and could provide more details to the service, but, according to his relatives, no one listened to him because it was difficult to verify the deputy’s statements.

Delfi got in touch with assistant Micheal Patient and was actually very willing to share his ideas. According to him, the children always looked very happy and felt very good at school.

“They were very supportive of each other, they had great friends here and they got along well with our staff. We really miss you guys so much and would love to see you back as soon as possible. They have a very good chance of becoming full members of society after graduation. “

According to him, the only problems the school knew about were the mother’s addiction to alcohol, but he had never heard of her being aggressive and hurting her family members.

“The father of the children has always been kind, as well as open and honest about his wife’s addiction. From my own experience, I can say that the accusations of violence are false. The children also understood English, perhaps only the girl sometimes found it more difficult to express her thoughts. But they were really independent: they dressed and washed, put on shoes and combed their hair. “

The Deputy Director also replied that so far no Lithuanian service had contacted him, he called, wrote letters, but received no reply. He also mentioned that he was in contact with the English authorities and asked for clarification on this situation.

The family of the deceased declined to comment.

Delfi also contacted the family of the deceased, but they refused to comment on the situation and assured that all the information was confidential until the trial.

Sigita Zumerytė-Arlauskienė, representative of the Children’s Rights Service, briefly commented that there is a need for protection for children.

“Permission has been requested from a court to take children of a legal representative. We are awaiting a decision from the court and the police on whether to launch a pre-trial investigation. The children are currently in a safe environment. UK authorities have also been contacted for information on the family. “
