“During the entire period of the pandemic, 46 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Elektrėnai, and in the last weeks, 21, that is, almost half of them. And now is the time to do everything possible to prevent this city from becoming another “hot spot” in Lithuania, “the epidemiologist wrote on the social network.

According to the data provided by R. Lingienė, twelve cases of contagion are related to the hockey competition held from September 19 to 20. Four: with family shoots. Two cases are related to the Vilnius cogeneration plant. A case each: with a dance studio in Vilnius, Mitnija and a birthday in Aukštadvaris.

We asked the contest organizers to provide us with a list of participants and their contact details. Unfortunately, the registration of participants was not carried out.

According to the expert, eighteen patients feel the symptoms. Regarding age, seven people under the age of 19 are infected, two are in the 20 to 29 age group, ten are in the 30 to 39 age group, one is in the 50 to 59 age group and the ages 60 to 69 are infected. one.

According to R. Lingienė, these cases were widespread: three of them were in the Elektrėnai Vocational Training Center, three were registered in the Elektrėnai Versmė gymnasium and one case in the Vievis J. Milančius primary school and the Vievis gymnasium. Also at the florist, go-kart track and elsewhere.

“We contacted the contest organizers to provide a list of participants and their contact details. Unfortunately, the registration of participants was not carried out. We remotely communicate with the clubs where the cases were registered, the communities, and organize preventive tests of all participants in the competition. We invited residents who participated in the competition to register with the NVSC. All applicants were offered to be evaluated and registered for the study. At least 40 people have registered. Of course, they have carried out the identification and isolation of the exposed persons ”, the epidemiologist explained about the measures already taken.

In addition, according to R. Lingienė, proposals were made for additional actions: temporarily suspend hockey classes and increase the availability of COVID-19 tests; install a mobile point in Elektrėnai, to expand the scope of the tests with special attention to hockey people and their families.

“I urge the residents of Elektrėnai to make suggestions on how to contribute to the prevention of COVID-19 in Elektrėnai among hockey players and the people related to them,” he did not hide his concern by sharing the Elektrėnai epidemic curve timeline on the social network.
