Such a large number of registrations did not happen by itself. At least 70 active Lithuanians from around the world have contributed to this and, for the first time this year, not only individuals from individual communities or regions have joined forces to promote active citizenship, but also, for the first time, have joined forces. : Civic Initiative NOW: Let’s Get Involved and Actively Vote in the upcoming elections, the global Lithuanian community, the Global Lithuanian Leaders Network (GLL) linking Lithuanian professional clubs in the world, the diaspora media (especially the portal Lithuanian Italian independent news agency Lithuania.it, which even created a special and unique section of that kind Elections2020), youth associations.
It was the young people who showed incredible civic maturity this year. Young people who were often born in Lithuania but grew up outside their territories. After all, in the next Seimas elections, in four years, there will be even more such active, mature and modern Lithuanian children in the world.
Therefore, on Election Day, October 11, at 6:30 pm Lithuanian time, the Lithuanian World Community, NOW, GLL, Lithuania Global and JKLJS – UK Lithuanian Youth Union are organizing the broadcast of the Lithuanian World Election Night, which will be moderated by LRT Sinevičienė, the host of LRT Radio.
