102nd death from coronavirus
NVSC reports that another case of death from coronavirus was recorded in Šiauliai county last day. This is the 102nd death in the country. The deceased belonged to the age group of 70 to 79 years and presented comorbidities. The COVID-19 illness was confirmed in one person on October 2.
80 cases have been linked to outbreaks
In Kaunas county, Raseiniai district, located in the Blinstrubiškės welfare home, 15 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed yesterday. 13 people are residents and 2 employees. There are currently a total of 89 cases associated with the outbreak: 32 workers, 53 residents, and 4 secondary cases.
8 cases registered in Kaunas County last day are related to the outbreak in the Department of Cardiology of Kaunas Hospital, LSMU, of which 7 are employees and 1 is a secondary case. In total, there are currently 18 related cases: 15 civil servants, 2 patients and 1 secondary.

Cases of coronavirus related to leisure facilities continue to be recorded in Vilnius County. 5 cases registered in Šiauliai county are related to the republican hospital in Šiauliai (3 employees and 2 secondary). Currently, the outbreak is associated with 71 cases, of which 26 are personal, 23 patients and 22 secondary cases.
In addition, yesterday there was a case of infection related to the Center for Community Social Services of the Parish of Radviliškis. A total of 4 related cases were recorded: 2 staff members and 2 nursing patients.
Another 3 in Šiauliai county are related to Kuršėnai hospital. All individuals are patient. A total of 11 infections have been associated with the outbreak, of which 10 are patients and one worker.
A new outbreak has been recorded in Kuršėnai, associated with Kuršėnai Forest Enterprise. Yesterday a case of coronavirus infection was confirmed (a total of 4 related cases were reported).
Yesterday 5 cases were registered in one of the wards of the Republican Hospital in Klaipeda. All individuals are physicians. The hospital identified 8 closely related colleagues who were isolated.
In Panevėžys County, 1 case is related to an outbreak at the Panevėžys Juozas Miltinis gym. The infection was confirmed to the student. To date, a total of 14 related infections have been reported.
In addition, a new outbreak was recorded in Panevėžys County, which is related to Panevėžys progymnasium “Šaltinis”. The coronavirus was confirmed yesterday to a teacher at this school. A total of 2 related cases of COVID-19 infection were reported.
The circumstances of the infection of 29 people are not clear
After contact with people confirmed by coronavirus, epidemiologists estimated that 107 people were infected. In addition, on the last day there were 6 import cases, one each from France, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, and 2 from Norway.
At this time, epidemiologists have not yet been able to determine how 29 people were infected. Epidemiological studies have shown that people did not travel abroad and did not interact with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Specialists are examining the routes of these infections, so the statistics may still change if links are found between individual cases.
NVSC reports that a total of 5,625 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Lithuania, 2,842 people remain ill and 2,660 have recovered.
