“The remaining six (cardiology patients – ed.) Are divided into wards, which are found separately with negative tests,” Saulius Tvirbutas, a spokesman for the hospital, told BNS.

According to the latest data from the National Public Health Center (NVSC), on the last day eight new cases of this outbreak were registered: seven workers fell ill and a secondary case was identified. There are currently 15 staff members at the facility, two patients and a secondary case.

According to S. Tvirbutas, there are more than 20 people of the hospital staff in isolation, so far their tests are negative.

New cardiology patients are not admitted, they are referred to other institutions.

As Justina Petravičienė, representative of the NVSC, told BNS, this fireplace is considered relatively new, so far the greatest forces are being launched to control the spread of the virus in it and to speak early about possible violations of infection control.

“Our specialists are working, trying to find out the reasons, the first priority is to stop the infection, isolate them in time and it is too early to talk about the evaluations,” he said.

Currently, 2842 people are still sick with COVID-19 in Lithuania, 2660 have recovered.
