If we see that the situation is changing in exactly such proportions, it is not stabilizing and it is already leaving the home, then the solutions will be different ”, says S. Skvernelis.
According to the Prime Minister, the government will first do the work that is required of it.
“We are primarily responsible for human life and health. {…} If only we would allow our healthcare system to no longer withstand the stress that will also affect patients with the virus. We will continue to do exactly the same. If we see that the situation changes in such proportions and does not stabilize and leaves the critical quarantine points, the solutions will be different. Skvernelis: If the situation does not improve, movement in Raseiniai will be restricted
On Wednesday, the SNB announced that Prime Minister S. Skvernelis was outraged that the Raseiniai coronavirus mobile checkpoint was half empty and called on the Raseiniai district municipality to encourage the population to take the test. Otherwise, according to him, in the near future the government could restrict movement from the municipality.
As long as there is such avoidance, reluctance, misunderstanding or dissemination of misinformation, when we, without knowing the real situation in the territory of the municipality of Raseiniai, we will be forced to take the next step: close the municipality and restrict communication to and from. I really don’t want to do that, it is better to have numbers that are real, even if they are higher, than to try to avoid, not control and spread the virus while moving through the territory of Lithuania in the case of asymptomatic cases or carriers of asymptomatic cases “said S. Following the meeting, the prime minister says he was referring to “conspiracy theories about the absence of the virus, the need for testing and that it is not dangerous” that are being spread on social media and elsewhere in the public sphere.
“You can clearly see that in Raseiniai, in other municipalities it was probably less. When a checkpoint is established, referrals are submitted for inspection simply by a much smaller percentage of that population than elsewhere. This, therefore, is a problem, it must be solved and solved with arguments and persuasion, ”said the Prime Minister on Wednesday.
