The conservatives of the Seimas seek to renew the investigation into the behavior of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis in making decisions about the paving of the road that passes by his family’s house.

Added the comment of the former head of the Highway Administration V. Andrejev.

Agnė Bilotaitė, the group’s deputy director, approached the Chief Service Ethics Commission (COEC) with such a request, “when new circumstances become clear” that the prime minister’s wife, Silvija Skvernelė, urged the Upės Street community of the Vilnius district to vote for the Interior Minister Rita Tamašunien por for her efforts to.

“Why am I doing this? Because this is the person who constantly reminded the employees of the Vilnius district municipality of the problems of our road. Thanks to his efforts, today we have some asphalt,” writes S. Skvernelė.

The prime minister himself has denied any influence on the government’s decision, but it is now clear that his wife, as well as influential politicians from the ruling coalition, the Polish Electoral Action-Union of Christian Families, have been involved in the process to accelerate road paving. the Minister of the Interior herself. I believe that this is a sufficient basis to renew the investigation into a possible conflict of interest ”, says A. Bilotaitė.

In the opinion of the deputy of Seimas, this message makes it very clear to understand how the decision to asphalt Upės Street was made, which was not included in the list of priority roads.

BNS writes that S. Skvernelė urged the Vilnius district Upės Street community to vote for Interior Minister R. Tamašūnienė in a closed Facebook group, setting the record as free political advertising.

A copy of the record of the prime minister’s wife was released on social media on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis did not deny the authenticity of the record, calling it a personal statement.

“The wife of the prime minister, like any other Lithuanian citizen, has the right to express an opinion on all matters. This is a personal statement from the wife of the prime minister, on which I cannot comment,” T. Beržinskas told BNS on Wednesday.

The minister did not try for the prime minister, but for the people.

Interior Minister R. Tamašunienė states that she did not communicate with Prime Minister S. Skvernelis or his wife about the asphalting of the street where they live. And I knew about the asphalt problem on Upės Street eight years ago.

“The prime minister did not contact me and I did not know eight years ago that the family lived there,” the minister told reporters on Wednesday.

“There is not only the village of Smilgiai, there are the surrounding villages, where we know that the infrastructure has not yet been repaired,” he said.

R. Tamašunienė stressed that he had contacted the Vilnius District Municipality and the Lithuanian Highway Administration about the paving of Upės Street.

“I did not communicate with the government, with the institutions, with the municipality, with the Road Administration,” said the Interior Minister.

She stated that the main problems in the single-member district of Nemenčinė, where she is elected a member of the Seimas, are the infrastructure and they receive many thanks from the community for solving their problems.

“The main problems in our single-member constituency, as it is a Vilnius district, are infrastructure: sidewalks, sidewalks. There are also many land restitution problems, ”he said.

According to the minister, it is her duty as an elected single member of the Seimas to respond to the problems caused by the population and solve them.

Among other things, R. Tamašunienė said that he had offered the community to request the municipality to pave Upės Street.

V. Andrejevas: R. Tamašunienė with the Highway Administration in Upės str. did not communicate

Interior Minister Rita Tamašunienė did not contact the Lithuanian Highway Administration regarding the asphalting of Up calles Street, where Prime Minister S. Skvernelis lives, according to its former director, Vitalijus Andrejevas.

“Certainly not, because, first of all, all those projects or consultations are in writing, and if the meeting is alive, then it should be a transcript,” the former head of the board told BNS on Wednesday.

According to V. Andrejev, “one or two” meetings were held with R. Tamašunienė to discuss other projects.

“If we look at the meetings with R. Tamašunienė, it is mainly about Riešė’s two projects. These are all these protocols,” Andreyev said.

He also stated that these projects had been discussed before R. Tamašunienė became minister.

V. Andrejev was removed from the post of director of the Directorate of Roads in July this year after he disagreed with the decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications Jaroslav Narkevičius to allocate funds for the asphalting of three roads in the districts of Trakai and Šalčininkai.

J. Narkevičius has repeatedly criticized V. Andrejev for misused funds from the Road Program and the European Union, at that time the latter assured that in 2017-2019 even more funds were used than planned.
