The National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reports that 100 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Lithuania last day. 40 of them were registered in Kaunas, 27 in Vilnius, 21 in Šiauliai counties. Another 5 were registered in Panevėžys, 2 in Klaipėda, 4 in Alytus and 1 in Telšiai counties.
According to epidemiologists, 72 people became infected after contact with individuals confirmed by coronavirus. In addition, on the last day there were 2 import cases from Ukraine and Belarus. The specialists could not determine the circumstances of the infection in 26 people.
44 cases are associated with outbreaks
Yesterday, 10 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Blinstrubiškės welfare home located in Kaunas county, Raseiniai district. All individuals are employees. A total of 71 cases were registered: 27 employees, 40 residents and 4 secondary cases.
Another 2 cases are related to the outbreak in Betygala Maironis Gymnasium of Raseiniai district (3 cases in total), 1 – in Raseiniai “Šaltinis” Progymnasium, where the infection was confirmed to the student (3 related cases in total). In addition, 1 case (student) is associated with an outbreak in Kaunas Eruditas Lyceum (17 related cases in total) and 1 – with the Krakiai Mikalojus Katkus gymnasium of Kėdainiai district, secondary case (3 related cases in total).
2 cases in Kaunas County are associated with the outbreak at the Kaunas State Musical Theater. Both cases are secondary. A total of 50 related cases were registered.
An estimated 5 cases in Vilnius County are related to UAB Mitnija. All individuals are employees. Currently a total of 10 related cases are registered.
2 other cases in Vilnius are associated with the outbreak at the dance studio “Dance Harmony”. One person is a visitor, the other is a secondary case. A total of 15 related cases were registered.
In addition, it is estimated that 2 cases registered yesterday in Vilnius county are related to the outbreak in the Trimitas wind orchestra. A total of 8 related cases were registered.
In Šiauliai county yesterday the coronavirus was confirmed for 1 person, it is a patient from Radviliškis hospital. A total of 168 cases were associated with the approach: 66 patients, 67 staff, and 35 secondary cases.
Five cases, confirmed yesterday in Šiauliai county, are related to the Telia Lietuva outbreak. A total of 12 related infections were reported, of which 2 were considered secondary.
Also, the case recorded 1 yesterday is related to the outbreak at the Šiauliai Republican Hospital, the case is secondary. A total of 64 related cases were recorded: 22 patients, 21 staff, and 21 secondary cases.
2 cases in Panevėžys County are associated with the Panevėžys Juozas Miltinis gym outbreak. COVID-19 was confirmed last day in a student and a relative of one of the infected students. To date, a total of 13 related cases of coronavirus have been reported.
4 chimney-related cases were recorded in Druskininkai Township in Alytus County. Three of these people are municipal employees. A total of 10 related COVID-19 cases were reported.
Furthermore, 1 case of infection registered in Klaipėda county is related to fencing training in Vilnius. A total of 7 related infection cases were confirmed.
The circumstances of the infection in 26 people are unclear.
To date, epidemiologists have not yet been able to determine how 26 people were infected. Epidemiological studies have shown that people did not travel abroad and did not communicate with people confirmed by COVID-19.
Specialists examine the routes of these infections, so statistics may still change if links are found between individual cases.
NVSC reports that a total of 5,285 cases of COVID-19 disease have been confirmed in Lithuania, 2,675 people are still ill, 2,497 have recovered.
