It is currently in a milder form.

Raseiniai District Residents Avoid Investigation

During the previous day, 5 people at risk died from coronavirus and 81 new cases were confirmed. Of these, 67 people became infected after contact with patients.

3 import cases were registered, the circumstances of the infection of 11 people are unknown.

“Yesterday, out of 81 patients, about 400 people who had contact were registered, and each of them had to be contacted by public health professionals to collect a complete medical history. That communication has not ended, ”said D.Razmuvienė.

He stressed that the greatest potential threat from the spread of COVID-19 is in medical facilities. In September and October, coronavirus cases were recorded in ten medical institutions and two nursing homes, said D. Razmuvienė.

“However, yesterday two new chimneys were registered at the Jurbarkas Hospital and at the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) in Kaunas,” added the NVSC representative.

According to her, two cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed at Jurbarkas Hospital and one at LSMU Hospital.

“But clearly we hope that they have already taken all the measures and that the chimney does not expand any more, because they had the experience of the initial spring wave”, expected D. Razmuvienė.

Recently, more doctors infected with coronavirus have been detected.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, 624 doctors have been sick, currently 218. However, during September and October 205 cases of doctors have been registered,” said the NVSC specialist.

He also mentioned the largest coronavirus outbreak in the Raseiniai district: 10 new illnesses were reported here and 127 people who had contact with them in the last day. Some of them, according to D.Razmuvienė, did not agree to be tested for COVID-19.

“Some called immediately, responded that they would not investigate without giving a reason, others simply did not come to investigate,” he said.

D.Razmuvienė emphasized that the residents of the Raseiniai district, although they have the opportunity to get tested for coronavirus at a preventive mobile point, are slow to do so.

The situation may get worse and much stricter restrictions may be necessary.

“Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday [tyrimams] 870 places were assigned and 63% of them. there are vacancies: 548 places that nobody wants to come to explore. If this situation continues, people will be very slow, reluctant to pay attention to something important such as investigation, the situation may get worse and much more stringent restrictions may be necessary, ”the NVSC representative warned.
