Maxima employees have been diagnosed with a coronavirus in Vilnius

Representatives of the Maxima retail chain note that they are currently unaware that there are more in Vilnius, Žaliųjų ežerų str. Staff at the Maxima X store in 207 would feel the symptoms of COVID-19. The interior of the store is completely disinfected.

“A worker who has been diagnosed with a coronavirus has been isolating herself for some time due to possible contact with a person with COVID-19. She has no symptoms. She last attended work on September 30 and the COVID-19 test was performed on October 4. The employee did not have close contact with customers or other colleagues who worked at the same Maxima store. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and will take recommended actions if necessary, ”said Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Department of Communication and Image of the Maxima retail chain.

The premises of the store where the COVID-19 infected employee worked have been further cleaned and disinfected. According to E. Dapkienė, the employees and customers of this Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit this store.

Also remember that Maxima tents meet stricter hygiene requirements: carts, baskets, and other surfaces are regularly disinfected, and fresh air circulation is increased for tent ventilation.

Maxima has special coronavirus insurance for its current and future employees. Employees receive the necessary protective equipment: medical masks or safety shields, gloves, hand sanitizing liquids. Temperature is measured daily for Maxima employees. If employees feel unwell, have symptoms of a cold or flu, they are asked to stay home.

“As the number of COVID-19 cases in the country increases, we understand that the coronavirus can affect everyone. We believe that the preventive protection measures we have taken will help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but it is equally important that each of us feel responsible not only for our own safety, but also for the safety of those around us. Therefore, we invite our customers to be vigilant: keep a safe distance in stores, do not forget to wear protective masks , sanitize hands and wear free disposable gloves, which can be found at the entrance, ”says E. Dapkienė, Director of the Department of Communication and Image of Maxima.

A total of 22 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, 16 of whom have made a full recovery and returned to work.

To date, 721 employees of the Maxima retail chain have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently 14 employees are still waiting for a test response, 9 of them have registered for prevention purposes, when Lithuanian municipalities organize preventive examinations.
