The Raseiniai district mayor said Monday that he had asked the health minister for help.

“Yesterday I called the Minister and said: we are burning with Blinstrubiškės. We do not have doctors who go there and help take care of the residents of the nursing home, regulate the flows. More than half of the institution’s employees are already there in isolation, sick or disabled. We appeal to the Minister to help us with human resources as soon as possible “, said A. Bautronis.

According to the mayor, several doctors have already responded after the minister’s speech to the medical community.

“There are already reconciliations there when they come to the rescue. We need the most help at Blinstrubiškės. The hospital has updated its services, everything is fine there. In the same way, it is a polyclinic that translates with its human resources ”, said A. Bautronis.

According to the mayor, Raseiniai’s own doctors are not enough in this situation.

“It just came to our attention then. Some of the Raseiniai Hospital employees are isolated and sick. They can still provide their services, but if at least one doctor falls, the hospital has to remodel the services again,” said A. Bautronis .

Nursing home residents, according to the mayor, would need the help of nurses and doctors. Currently, more than 40 grandparents are ill at the Blinstrubiškės welfare home.

“Today, all the remaining residents who have not been identified with COVID-19 will be examined. We will see in which direction the situation is heading in two weeks,” said A. Bautronis.

Invite volunteers to help

The Minister of Health appealed to the medical community to help and work temporarily in Raseiniai.

“Unfortunately, the second wave also mercilessly affects the most vulnerable groups in society. Currently, a very difficult situation has arisen in Raseiniai. The coronavirus (COVID-19) also spread in the Blinstrubiškės welfare home. Here The most vulnerable population group lives. When the staff also fell ill, there were no staff to properly care for the residents of these residences. The municipality cannot find doctors who agree to come and help, “wrote A. Veryga on Facebook .

According to the minister, the ministry is talking about possible help with medical institutions, but all institutions now have a real year of work and it is not easy for them.

“We have no direct mechanisms to delegate or provide assistance there. So I go out to the public in public and ask for comments from potential volunteer physicians (enough medically licensed physicians) who agree to help the residents there. If you agree to help and work there temporarily, I look forward to your message or comment. Of course, you can also write directly to the mayor of Raseiniai, ”wrote A. Veryga.
