This week, the investigation of the coronavirus will intensify in 17 municipalities of the country, including Panevėžys.

The Ministry of Health (SAM) announces that more intensive investigations will be carried out on October 5. until October 11. including for residents of the cities of Panevėžys, Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Elektrėnai, Druskininkai and Raseiniai, Radviliškis, Šiauliai, Kelmė, Kupiškis, Ukmergė, Kaunas, Akmenė, Mažeikiai, Vilnius, Kėdainiai

These 17 municipalities have a higher incidence than other Lithuanian municipalities.

In high-risk municipalities, personnel from treatment and social care institutions will be prophylactically examined this week. Patients who have spent more than 48 hours in treatment facilities will also be further studied.

According to the updated procedure, more intensive tests will be carried out in those municipalities where the epidemiological indicator is 100,000. The population is over 25, and more than five cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the last 14 days.

According to SAM data, the incidence rate of coronavirus infection in the city of Panevėžys is 100 thousand. the population reached 32.6, in the whole of Lithuania – 45.8.

Depending on the morbidity rates in different municipalities, high-risk municipalities are identified each week by a decision of the Minister of Health, the manager of emergency operations at the state level.

Last week, more intensive tests were carried out in the following high-risk municipalities: Raseiniai, Radviliškis, Šiauliai, Kupiškis, Kelmė, Akmenė, Ukmergė, Rokiškis, Jurbarkas, Pakruojis, Mažeikiai, Plungė, Biržai, as well as the Šunasven Viliai and Viliai districts.
