Another amendment came into force on Friday, October 2: the requirement that foreigners from affected countries and third parties have no more than 72 hours is no longer required. COVID-19 test conducted in the period prior to arrival in Lithuania and negative response received. However, 14 days of isolation are still mandatory for these people.

Certain categories of travelers for whom isolation is not mandatory have also been expanded this week.

From now on, it will not be necessary to isolate not only teachers returning from Belarus who teach Lithuanian in schools in this country, but also clergy doing pastoral work in Belarus.

Nor will isolation be necessary for officials of certain law enforcement agencies involved in international operations coordinated by FRONTEX in the EU and third countries.

SAM reminds that isolation is not mandatory when flying through an affected country without leaving the airport transit area, or from a non-coronavirus country when passing through Poland or Estonia, where only the necessary stops are made (refueling, hygiene, etc.).

Arrivals from Poland and Estonia do not need to be isolated when traveling for work, study, agricultural activities or medical care.

Any traveler returning to or arriving in Lithuania on scheduled, special or charter flights by air, sea or land must electronically register with the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) by completing a form. The passenger must present the registration confirmation received, the so-called QR code, when boarding a plane, ferry, bus or train.

In cases where a person has traveled independently by land, they must register with the NVSC electronically no later than 12 hours after the time of return or arrival in Lithuania.

The SAM recalls that the list of countries most affected is updated weekly, taking into account epidemiological indicators in foreign countries.
