“We received the letter from the National Center for Public Health today, but the coronavirus was detected on Saturday,” VV spokesperson Ervinas Spūdys told BNS on Wednesday.
He said that the coronavirus was transmitted to a member of the administrative staff who also taught at the university, but that lectures are currently being held remotely.
“There was no risk of infection for the students or other members of the academic community. After working, the colleagues who had contact were isolated, there are five ”, said a representative from VU.
It added that on Sunday the employee’s office and common areas at VU Central Palace were disinfected.
“All security measures have been taken,” said E. Spūdys.
A VU spokesperson also said that the facilities that hosted the events for French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit were also disinfected.
