Now the strongest Lithuanian tennis player has won at least once in all four major tennis tournaments: the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open.
Although a small favorite of the match was considered to be a representative from South America sitting on the ground this time, R. Berankis drew a real tennis lesson from the start of the match.
The most capable Lithuanian tennis player won two of the four won in almost half an hour breaking point, defended himself by filing and even went ahead 5: 0.
Although the 30-year-old Vilnius’ marvelous march was interrupted by rain, so that all Roland Garros matches that took place in the open sky were suspended indefinitely, the Lithuanian who returned to the ground did not make any gift to the rival.
In the second set, R. Berankis supported H. Dellien on the border in the fifth geime, when the Bolivian defended his innings only after a fight that lasted 22 points, but finally the Lithuanian broke the course of the set in the ninth geime, who won “dry” and obtained the advantage of two sets.
Not only that, at the end of the second set, the 27-year-old Bolivian also suffered pain: he suspended the match for five minutes by calling medical personnel. Dellien appears to have suffered from abdominal pain.
Although he returned to the game, the Bolivian from Berankis, who smelled blood, did not stop. The Lithuanian “knocked out” his opponent at the beginning of the third set and, after holding the lead until the end of the set, celebrated a historic victory, the first of his career at the Roland Garros tournament.

In the second stage of the tournament, R. Berankis is none other than the first racket on the planet Novak Djokovic, who in the first round convincingly achieved 6: 0, 6: 2, 6: 3 with the Swede Mikael Ymer (ATP- 80).

It’s interesting that the Lithuanian is playing Nole for the second time in just over a month; At the end of August he also fought the Serbs at the Western & Southern Open, where the Serb showed his advantage only after a difficult fight: 7: 6 (2), 6: 4.
By the way, R. Berankis could play against Djokovic again in the last month, if only he had passed the third stage of the US Open tournament. However, the Lithuanian ran into Pablo Carreño-Bust, who then marched over the disqualified Serbian tennis player.
The confrontation between R. Berankis and N. Dzhokovich will take place on Thursday.
