“Those who are at least in self-isolation, who have been inspected, adhere to self-isolation, there is at least a little less movement and concentration in the city itself (…) they assured me that nothing was being punished, what they were seeing it really wasn’t rape, “A. Bautronis told the radio.
Rasa Šebelskienė, director of the Blinstrubiškės welfare home in Kaunas county, Raseiniai district, says the situation in the institution is “quite stable”.
“We have six sick employees and ten sick nursing home residents. And the employees are inspected every week. If it weren’t for the employee preventive checkup, probably no one would have known that someone had this disease, because both residents and employees they suffer from a completely asymptomatic form, ”he told the radio.
“If the temperature of two residents had risen a little at night, then (high temperature – BNS) had disappeared and today we have practically no fever,” added the director.
The Raseiniai district municipality postponed plans to petition the government for quarantine for a week on Friday, but starting Saturday tightened the use of masks in all public places, recommending canceling all trips to other districts for at least two weeks , to avoid meetings.
The municipality emphasizes that the use of masks in the public spaces of the district -both open and closed- is not recommended but mandatory until new decisions are made.
The mayor told BNS on Saturday that the municipality hopes the measures will yield results and that more decisions will be made on Monday after assessing the situation.
“Everything will be together now on Monday, when the Commission on Emergency Situations meets and we have to see what the trend will be after our current actions,” said A. Bautronis.
