“We are sorry that our staff has detected the coronavirus, which has been isolating itself at home for almost a week because COVID-19 is a sick member of its family. It has not been established that he had close contacts with other colleagues who worked in the same Maxima store. We are consulting with the National Center for Public Health and will take recommended actions if necessary, ”said Ernesta Dapkienė, Director of the Communication and Image Department of the Maxima retail chain.
The premises of the store where the worker infected by COVID-19 worked have been cleaned and completely disinfected. According to E. Dapkienė, the employees and customers of this Maxima store can feel safe and continue to visit this store.
Also remember that Maxima tents meet stricter hygiene requirements: trolleys, baskets, and other surfaces are regularly disinfected, and fresh air circulation is increased for tents ventilation.
A total of 19 Maxima workers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, 16 of whom have fully recovered and returned to work. To date, 633 Maxima employees have been investigated for COVID-19. Currently 12 employees are still waiting for a test response, 6 of them are registered for prevention purposes, when Lithuanian municipalities organize preventive examinations.
