I was pushing a lot for the season.
Multiple opponents, multiple dates offered at all times. Everything will be done back to back.
Then when covid hit and there was talk that I would have to wait for the crowds again, I walked away from the situation. I’ve been waiting long enough at that stage.– Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) September 25, 2020
C. McGregor also hinted at a desire to fight at the age of 38. Diego Sanchezo.
“Diego Sánchez: I saw your last comment on your last fight and I’ll be there! After you fought Pereira, I was going to fight you in Dublin. It was in February when I was working on my season and virus calendar. Good good luck this weekend! ”wrote C. McGregor.
McGregor also corresponded with UFC president White, who recorded how the latter claimed he would lose his license if he staged a duel between McGregor and Sánchez. McGregor himself alluded to White at the time about his desire to fight Gaethje and emphasized that he did not want to be a “guard” fighter.
To Diego Sanchez …
I saw your recent comments on your final fight and I’m in!
After you fought Pereira, I asked you to compete in Dublin. This was in February when I was working in the opposition for my season, pre covid.

Sánchez will meet Jake Matthews at UFC 253, and even before the fight he said that he would like to end his career fighting McGregor, and that would be an ideal ending.
“Maon’s goal is the last four fights in the UFC, which he would complete strong and healthy,” Sanchez said. “I’m looking for legendary fights – Nick Diaz is back, and there would also be a lot of good fights that would be interesting for the fans. C. McGregor would be that fourth fight. I imagine I would dominate the next three battles and finish my career fighting C. McGregor. Such is my dream and my vision. As long as I train my legend and he does what he does, I’ll wait, maybe he wants to do it at the end of the road. ”
