According to A. Zmitra, the fireplace in the municipality was only announced on Thursday, so you will not understand why the mayor and his team acted so irresponsibly.

On Friday, September 18, it was known that there is a disease in the municipality. But no one spoke of it publicly. There were even more sick people on Monday, as well as Tuesday. In the police and in the hospital it was publicly known that they were chimneys. But the fact that the municipality has a fireplace was recognized until Thursday.

Although there have been illnesses in the municipality since Friday. This raises a big question and doubt, if there is a chimney in the municipality, if it was wise to show up and participate in various meetings and the mayor to inspect the mobile checkpoint that started in Raseiniai on Wednesday and the like. After all, they were all from the same building. When the police approved the fireplace, it was closed. The district was served by police officers from other districts. Unfortunately, the municipality did not follow this path, ”A. Zmitra told Eltai.

According to him, the mayor, the deputy mayor Kęstutis Užemeckas, the director of the administration Edmundas Jonyla and his deputy Irma Juknevičienė had to isolate themselves and not participate in city events.
“Public health professionals say that if a sick person is in the same building, it is necessary to isolate other workers. And there was the mayor’s participation in the autumn festival and in the inauguration of the Kryžkalnis monument to the Lithuanian partisans, in the award ceremony of the “Šatrija” choir, which took place inside. Later it became clear that the showgirls were getting sick too. I have the impression that they are the same and softer, ”says the director of Discover Raseiniai.

On Friday, the mayor of the Raseiniai district, Andrius Bautronis, announced that the result of the COVID-19 test they carried out is positive. The coronavirus was also approved by managing director Edmundas Jonylas.

“COVID-19 presents new challenges every day. In the morning I discovered that my research is also positive. Anticipating unfounded accusations in absentia, I can confirm that I did preventive tests over the weekend and that I was not infected with a coronavirus infection at the time. I am socially responsible and I understand the risks posed by the coronavirus for the entire population, so I participated in the events only when I was sure that it would not spread the virus, ”writes A. Bautronis on my Facebook account.

ELTA recalls that in the Raseiniai district the largest outbreak in the country has been observed so far, the indicator of 329.9 cases per 100,000 is registered in the municipality in 14 days. population. Due to this situation, a remote meeting of the Raseiniai Emergency Situations Commission is taking place at noon.

Not everyone stayed at a safe distance during the fall festival
A. Zmitra also affirms that there were communication errors in the municipality.

On Friday, September 18, when preparations for the Fall Festival began, the municipality issued an instruction that all public events will be banned from Monday. The private company was outraged that such a decision was made in complete disagreement with them. Then soon a correction appeared that only public sector events are prohibited and that budget culture and tourism institutions go to work remotely, ”he said.

The director of the tourism center is also surprised that the municipality allowed only half a day for teachers to prepare for distance education.

“My colleagues and I have been preparing since the beginning of September to start distance education at any time. You arrive at the lesson and say goodbye to the students at the end of the story that it is unclear if the next lesson will still take place at school. But we still weren’t expecting such a sudden saying when you learn on Monday night that you have to start teaching remotely from Tuesday morning. Not all teachers were able to bring textbooks and teaching materials from school. I didn’t give him a single day of preparation. After all, students and parents also need to be informed about all the other basics, so it caused a lot of chaos, ”he said.

When asked if people kept a safe distance during the Fall Festival, A. Zmitra confirmed that people in the western part did not follow precautions.

“As a Tourism Center, we photograph the Fall Festival. There were definitely a lot less people than on the previous vacation. People met security requirements at events. However, many people were captured, and we saw it ourselves, that in the western part of the festival, when concerts and discotheques were held, distances, the Tourist Center and security measures were not observed, ”he said.
