The mayor also announced that a meeting of the Emergency Commission will be convened on Friday to make new decisions on managing the spread of the virus.

The virus does not select a person by name, age or gender. We need to understand that social distance is a key preventive tool in the fight against COVID-19. Stay healthy, “he wrote.

By Friday it should be clear whether the Raseiniai municipality will ask the government to introduce local quarantine.

According to data recalled by BNS on Thursday, 112 cases were detected in Raseiniai during the first three weeks of September, and no people infected with COVID-19 were recorded here in August.

On Thursday, Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga confirmed that local quarantine is not planned in Raseiniai and other points of rapid spread of the coronavirus in Radviliškis and Šiauliai.
