Open for COVID-Checkpoint 19a

As of Friday, Radviliškis Hospital suspended the admission and hospitalization of new patients. All scheduled surgeries, consultations and other services provided to admitted patients have also been suspended.

The Radviliškis District Municipality Emergency Commission, which held an emergency meeting last weekend, immediately took action to control the virus. The mobile COVID-19 point began operating in Radviliškis on Monday. The samples obtained there are transported to Šiauliai for analysis.

All residents of Radviliškis, who have previously registered by phone 1808, can take a survey at the new point. Priority here is given to the staff of educational institutions and personal health care, civil servants, merchants, pharmacists.

The COVID-19 point in Radviliškis is operating at full capacity. Every day, employees and volunteers of the point, located in the old gas station on Radmės Street, flutter around non-stop: the queue for those who want to explore fills up every day from morning until the end of work.

Be careful, but try to live normally

The residents of the city themselves assure that they no longer feel the tension they had at the beginning of the year. It is true that people admit to being more protective than usual. Rima, a Radviliškis resident who met at the hospital, said that although the hospital was closed, it was quite easy to get help at the polyclinic. The woman brought her mother here Wednesday morning.

“Okay, I just accompanied my mother from the polyclinic. Everything is fine. We called, got a coupon. Yesterday we called very easily. Like others, I don’t know. We were successful. For me personally, there is no such fear. Perhaps those older people are more afraid, the young people work for that and that. I was in Germany in the spring, so I can say that there is more panic in Lithuania than there. In Germany everyone goes to work and here and on the street they already want to put on a mask, ”said Rima.

Another resident of Radviliškis, who falls into the risk group according to his age, said that the second wave of the virus no longer scares people so much. According to Janina, the routine of the people of Radviliškis did not change much in her city.

“People are probably used to news about the virus. Do you remember how empty the city was when the quarantine was announced? Sicker now, but everyone lives like before. People used to. There was definitely more anxiety in the spring. Of course You still have to be careful, but you can see that people are tired of those words about the virus, “Janina said.

Educational institutions in the district are adapting to the situation

The package of measures adopted by the Radviliškis District Municipal Emergency Commission also affected general education institutions. They are instructed that fifth and tenth grade students and high school students must temporarily return to distance learning. For preschool and elementary school students, these changes have not yet applied and the educational process is normal.

It is true that all institutions had to suspend non-formal education sessions for at least two weeks. Morbidity statistics will be monitored during this period and the ban may be extended.

The Vincas Kudirka Progymnasium, which has the largest number of students in the Radviliškis district, has also adopted changes in the educational process immediately. According to Rasa Dagienė, the director of the institution, the teaching process is partly again remotely and so far the virtual lessons are running smoothly. According to the principal, the school monitors and evaluates ongoing distance learning.

“We have a total of 667 students. Half of them now work remotely. For beginners, nothing has changed except that there are no so-called circles. Those circles where the teacher works only with his class, we lead them, but if there are joint sessions, those circles are not. And those from fifth to eighth grade moved on to distance education. We have an old order, a skill, and all the students and teachers now have the email addresses that the school gives them and they work through a platform.

We used to work with the old version, but now we use a new and improved system. We already have the first reflections on distance education written by all the teachers, so we can be happy that the work is going smoothly.

Until now, we will be working for two weeks, but if we continue with distance learning after them, there will be nothing terrible for us. We also share computers and buy the Internet for children whose families have a harder time living. In a word, the process goes smoothly. Only parents can be worse off, due to work, feeding their children and the socialization of children in general.

Flows are regulated at the school. We go through three entrances: one through one, the other through the other, beginners to the third. We have a separate person: a guard, we hire a new person to take care of the order, carry out the disinfection and monitor the children. Then when those issues are over, we can rename the post. An uneducated man who does his job wonderfully. Especially in the canteen so that the flow of children does not mix.

The staff have shields, masks, we disinfect everything. I don’t know if anything else can be done, “said Rasa Dagienė, the director of the institution.
