A. Veryga promised strict rules for patient visits so that it does not happen like in Radviliškis Hospital.

In September, the coronavirus was confirmed in 59 treatment facilities.

Radviliškis Mayor Antanas Čepononis announced Monday morning that no assistance has yet been received from SAM. When asked by the minister when this assistance would come to Radviliškis, A. Veryga replied that all assistance had already been provided.

“The municipality really receives the help, it really receives or already has what they have asked for. NVSC assessed the situation, provided recommendations and made decisions on the establishment of a mobile point. All necessary assistance is provided. If the municipality imagines that the ministry will find doctors for the medical institution, it will certainly not be the case, the founder should take care of that. And we have not received any other help or request from the municipality, ”said A. Veryga.

In addition, according to the minister, municipalities where the spread of the infection is faster should consider stopping non-formal education of students, where there is no possibility of wearing masks. According to epidemiologists, it is because of these circles that the virus can spread even faster.

According to A. Veryga, so far it is not considered to restrict movement in Radviliškis, as it was in Nemenčinė, because the chimney is localized.

Warned about wearing masks

According to the minister, the “general situation in Lithuania is not improving”. Therefore, it is necessary to remember the use of protective equipment.

“We see in the photographs and public publications that the staff of medical institutions are wearing protective equipment in the wrong way, not to mention people who are not doctors and may not know very well how to use it. The minister also recalled who is not required to wear masks.

“It is for the disabled, for those who, due to disabilities of all kinds, both physical and mental, find it impossible to wear these nasal and mouth pads. This is especially true for people who have certain developmental disabilities and simply cannot use such devices due to their behavior. Another group of people can be those with physical ailments, respiratory diseases for whom the mask can make it difficult to breathe, but I would generally recommend those people to avoid meetings. Since you already have these diseases, being infected with a coronavirus can be especially dangerous for you, ”said the minister.

A. Veryga recalled that on Monday it was decided to change the coronavirus testing strategy: mandatory testing of people lying in medical institutions will return, medical testing will intensify, patient visit rules will be tightened to prevent the infection from entering to the medical institution and the Radviliškis hospital stages.

However, A. Veryga has not yet responded when the quarantine can be introduced.

“There is no number you would like to hear from me and no country could provide it,” the minister said.

Almost as many cases were registered during the weekend as during the whole month of July

According to R. Lingienė, a total of 249 coronavirus cases were recorded on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. At that time, only 275 cases of COVID-19 were recorded throughout July.

“This clearly shows the seriousness of the epidemiological situation. In the 3 weeks of September, excluding this week, we have registered a total of 886 cases, compared to 880 in April and more than 550 in March. The situation is under control, but we have clear signs to remember the lessons learned in the spring, ”said R. Lingienė.

Said what’s most troubling

According to R. Lingienė, currently the main concern of epidemiologists is the non-formal education of children, the contact activities of various leisure activities of adults, such as dance or singing classes, as well as family celebrations.
